Ami Sushi — Restaurant in Santa Ana

The sushi is good for the cost, say 8/10. I walked in at exactly 8:21 when they were to close at 9pm. Politely, i asked if i could place an order to-go with the hostess at the front. The hostess looked over to one of the sushi chefs and in a language i didn't understand obviously asked if i could still be served (would have been two different cut rolls). The chef literally motioned to shoo me out. The hostess turned toe and told me the chef had to leave early for an emergency. I couldnt place an order at 8:21pm and the excuse was bunk. I went next door to Farmer Boys and got meals for my family, to-go, and on the way back to my car i stopped in again to Ami Sushi only to see other patrons had been served, and the chef that shoo'd me away because of an "emergency" was still behind the counter doing his thing. I told the hostess i didnt appreciate how i was treated, and she basically told me to get lost. I was totally and completely polite up until the hostess told me to screw off. I did then tell her that they've lost my families business forever...

Mike Sushi on Main St. is the place to go instead if its not too far out of the way. Genuinely better sushi and genuinely better service. I will never recommend Ami Sushi after their service that night, not to mention poor customer service before this particular night that just isnt really worth more...

I 've been going to this restaurant for years. I started placing orders for pickup because the customer service was lacking and the owner was always in a bad mood and seemed bothered answering the phone and helping walk in customers. I arrived for my pickup, paid and doubled checked the order and realized I placed the wrong order. I apologized for my error and wanted to order the correct item. The owner rolled her eyes, grabbed the bag and raised it towards me barking out loud"what do you want me to do with this?" Again i apologized, she continued to make a show in front of the other patrons. Therefore, I requested my money back and clearly stated I will take my business elsewhere. I was about to just take the order as is, but it was her sour,dismissive attitude and flinging the food order in the air, I decided to just leave. I will never go back. The food is ok, not great. The staff aren't knowledgeable of the sake they sell. Once you're served at the tables, no one returns to check on things. And the...

I’m giving a one and if I could post lower I would . It’s not because of the food , the food is amazing . This is the only sushi place I like . I’ve been going here with my family for years , since I was in elementary school and I'm 2 years into college now. There is one waitress that every time we come in there she is so rude . All of the others are great and trust me we have seen many come and go , but this one has been the rudest waitress we have experienced here . We came to sit down and eat before coming back to us she took 3 other tables orders that came well after us. She was rolling her eyes and doesn’t even greet us . Not to mention my 3 year old sister kept saying thank you for the water and she didn’t even want to say you’re welcome. She said thank you three times before she acknowledged her. It makes me not want to go back and we have experienced this rudeness only from her and the past three times we have came it’s been her . This is may just be my last time...
