First, I must say I usually don't have a bad experience at this Dennys, however the last two times I have come have been disappointing. I will not post my first review as I was giving them a second chance. However, I feel I need to at this point. First, I ordered the bourbon bacon cheeseburger with a double patty and onion rings instead of fries. I also asked for no tomatoes as I have a mild allergy to them.... but as you can see in the photos, I got tomatoes anyway. No big deal, I obviously removed them and took some medication later. But it only wasn't that, as you can also see, I got 4 onion rings in place of fries????.... give you a handful of fries, but 4 onion rings then up charge you???? It's a bit ridiculous if you ask me, so what do I do?? I ask for a little more onion rings... the second photo of the other 4 onion rings was what I was brought( my little more)... totaling 8 onion rings. Okay, maybe I'm being picky, but if you're going to up charge me, please give me more than 8, onions are cheap, and they are multipurpose use. Why not pour them on my plate like fries???? No worries, I can get past that, but let's look at the boneless wings I ordered....FYI, those are supposed to be bbq boneless wings, I mean just give the plain chicken and let me dip them in myself. And when they ask you about sauces, it's not the sauce the chicken will be in. They mean like ranch or blue cheese dressing (sauce on the side). Now, to top all this off, there was only 1 waitress working the whole restaurant for roughly 20-25 people. While I saw several people in the back, including managers, at least 2 of them and no one helping out, so naturally she didn't come by and check on anyone's table or make sure there was nothing needed from any customer she was constantly running around, then proceeds to just give me my check. It's not a big deal whatever, I guess I was done anyways... but here is the kicker...the total cost with tip and taxes came to $81.46 for two people. Sorry Dennys, it's only a 3 star for me. However, I will say the food was good and the...
Read moreAfter finishing up an event that carried well past midnight, I found myself in a booth at Denny's with a couple friends in tow. A bit tired and hungry to boot, we were served by a quite amiable server by the name of Jennifer, who appeared to be the only waiter holding down the front end (an understandable situation, given the expected bustle you'd see at 2am).
In terms of service, our friendly server Jennifer well exceeded my expectations of typical waiters. Not every waiter is able to correctly split a check four ways without having to ask "who got what," especially when half of our table ordered at different times (apologies for that Jennifer, if you happen to read this). Additionally, I felt that the rather boisterous/borderline-disruptive table in our section (an uncommon but not an unusual 2am sighting) was also swiftly and respectfully handled by her as well, though I'm not too privy on the details.
In terms of food, I'd say it's as you'd expect of a typical 24 hour American diner, so I'm actually quite thankful for that. "What you get is what you expect it to be," and that consistency can be difficult for some chains to pull off. For this location at the very least, I have no complaints regarding the food, and my table can attest to that in the form of empty plates and positive comments regarding the skillet dishes they ordered.
Atmosphere was the only thing I didn't score to the top as a result of the "problematic" table: diners who are much too loud for a restaurant at any point in time (let alone that late in the night) who also desired to cause some sort of a scene. By no means is this a fault of the staff, though. They can control the types of 2am diners they receive no more than we can control the weather (that is to say, we can't). However, I'm thankful that it was swiftly addressed/deescalated, as the ambiance was otherwise largely peaceful.
Overall, a...
Read moreMy sister and I are regulars at this Dennys and our service is always 10/10 but yesterday was completely different. We dined in last night and the server who approached us (he seemed to be of Indian background, did not give us his name) asked us how many, we said "two" and he left. My sister and I were somewhat confused thinking he would be back to show us to our table, but that was not the case. We suddenly see him turn a corner and he threw some menus on a table so we then understood that was our table. As we sat down, he grabbed the menus from the table and tried to move us a table over without any explanation. I stopped him and told him we were fine where we were. He said nothing and left. A minute later he came back with forks and left again. Usually once we are seated the waiter will ask if we can get started with drinks, but this man kept coming and going. Mind you, it was only us and another couple across the room. He finally came back to take our order and drink order. Around this time another couple and two other ladies arrived, and he began huffing and puffing whispering under his breath "oh my god" when sitting them down. Again, only 4 tables were occupied. Maybe he was having a bad day or he is new? Our food finally arrived and not even 5 minutes later he brings our bill not allowing us to order refills on drinks or dessert. It felt like it was our cue to hurry and get out. After bringing our bill he did not approach us to see if we needed or wanted anything else. Please know the rating is for this particular employee. Cooks and servers have always been extremely kind and wonderful, so this...
