Lots of places to buy food. The food is good, but pricey. I had eggplant parmesan at the pizzeria. It tasted great, but the amount of eggplant and parmesan cheese was small. I noticed, after putting in my order, that the menu had placed the eggplant parmesan in a category called small bites. It's too bad for me that I didn't notice that before putting in my order.

Since I was still hungry after eating the eggplant parmesan, I went to Shalhoob's and ordered a cheeseburger. They call it something else.

The "Single" consists of two burgers smashed flat and cooked to well done and crispy. Since doing that to ground beef takes all the juiciness out of the meat, they compensate by giving a generous portion of melted cheese and adding their proprietary special sauce. The portion, with the two burgers, is generous so I shared some with my wife and my granddaughter. I liked it a lot, but the ladies weren't impressed.

The What3Words address of the entrance to the Public Market...

Not bad but honestly pretty underwhelming. The food was fine, but not amazing, and so ridiculously expensive that it didn't feel worth it. It was $6 for a single OK taco. Then I spent $14 for Duck Buns and was handed two tiny packages wrapped in tin foil. When I unwrapped them, it turned out half the package was just the foil! The food was this small, sad little morsel in the middle of all this aluminum foil! For $14 bucks that was definitely a disappointment.

The venue is attractive, but not like, "tell Aunt Carol" levels of attractive. One very cool thing they have, probably the highlight of the trip, is a little machine at the entrance where you can push a button and it will print out a short story for you. They must have a huge library of short stories, because you can select the length and genre, and it will just print out a new one. I will say that...

I really love the PM. It's the perfect place to go and meet friend for food and beverage. The best part is there are so many restaurants to choose from that everyone can find something they like. Whether tacos, sushi, falafels, thai or ice cream. They pretty much have it all. The food is good too. Another great feature is the main room with Shalhoobs and the giant tv. Plenty of games on and you should be able to watch your favorite team at least on one of the other tvs. Another thing most people don't know is that they have a parking garage under the PM which lets you park for free for up to 2 hours. I usually go there rather than finding...

We always enjoy the public market! We live close and probably one of our favorite places in town specially the FALA BAR! The manager of this restaurant (FAR) is incredible. He is very kind and super detail oriented person and last but not least every time he is smiling. The service is awesome which is very important and the food and quality are amazing too. All the plates are fresh and tasty. We highly recommend this place. Last time we ordered Falafel Plate (you can choose four falafel balls, we ordered the kale ones that are yummy! Also the plate has hummus, tahini, Israeli salad, quinoa tabouli, white and purple cabbage). Get a chance to try it!

I've been a supporter of the SB Public Market since it's inception, I even worked there for a year at one point. There's a lot to do in the building that used to be a Vons grocery store back in the day. I love that they saved the tile murals from the store and incorporated them into the building on the Chapala Street side. Pizza, burgers, tacos, ice cream, adult beverages and lots of big televisions are just some of the things you'll find there. I wonder if they've ever thought of a gift shop? It's a locally owned slice of what we love about Santa Barbara.
