The food at Olio e Limone was excellent. Starter we had the warm seafood salad. Worth going back for good. I had the home made duck ravioli - so delicious! Celeste had the home made pasta with quail in red gravy. Sauce was great, just like my grandmother made. To finish off the meal, cannoli yum! I do recommend the meal wholeheartedly. About the service... I eat out often, either with my daughter or my dad, or both. This time it was just Celeste and I. I found the staff cold and very businesslike. I have been to Italy many times, this was not an Italian thing. We had reservations, which we were late (plane was late getting in, then accident on expressway); but I called to let them know. They were warm and understanding. No problem, come when you can. We walk in and it was like what do we do with them. I heard one say, they have a reservation. We were stuck in the tiny table in a corner. Other than take our order and bring our food out, we were pretty much ignored. They did refill my softdrink once. Never asked Celeste if she wanted another cocktail and she would have ordered one. We watched the wait staff, including our waiter, socialize warmly with other diners. We waited patiently to get our check while he chatted in Italian to the table behind us, for ten minutes! The food is worth a 5 star rating, our...
Read moreGreat food; not so great service. This weekend, my girlfriend and I visited Olio Pizzeria for dinner. When we arrived, we waited for several minutes at the hostess desk. When the hostess finally arrived, she was on the phone and she continued to talk for a few more minutes. Finally, the hostess offered us a seat at the bar and said that someone would be there soon to clean it off. Several minutes went by and no one cleaned the bar so we decided to have a seat. Then, a bartender came over and asked me to hand him the dirty dishes in front of us. A few minutes later, a younger bartender came over to offer us drinks. We asked him to wipe down the bar and he did so reluctantly. He then poured us waters while practically reaching over my girlfriend's shoulder. When we asked if we could order food, he said that a waitress would come by soon to take our order. About 10 minutes later, when no one had taken our order, I stopped a nearby waitress and asked if she could help us. The food arrived shortly thereafter and it was great; however, by that time, we were already regretting our decision to eat at Olio Pizzeria. Waiting a long time on a busy night is understandable; however, the poor customer service that we received was very...
Read moreNo service...Literally no service not even a hello. I have lived in Santa Barbara for three years never experienced this kind of unfriendly, non welcoming service. A friend and I stopped by at about 8:30 pm on a Thursday night. When we arrived there was no host at the door, so we waited for a host or hostess to return. While waiting we could see the bartender and he could see us but he did not say anything ...like someone will be right with you maybe. When no one came back, we went into the restaurant passed the bar and stood waiting while a few servers rushed passed us. Still, no one said anything to us...no eye contact either. When we asked if we could be seated to one of the passing servers, he said something we could not make out and kept moving. We waited another minute and got the attention of another server. When asked to be seated again, he said "we are already closed". No apology. In fact he said it like... duh, we are already closed. There were plenty of people still eating and food was still coming out of the kitchen. Seriously, It was not even 9pm (closer to 8:30pm). Really bad...almost...
