Art Essentials — Local services in Santa Barbara

One of the best art stores I've ever been to and definitely the best one in the Santa Barbara area. Amazing selection of everything from more affordable to professional quality supplies for every medium.

Come here if you're looking to draw, paint, print, sculpt, frame, or anything else essentially and you'll be in good hands regardless of experience level as the staff are very friendly and clearly very knowledgeable about art and the supplies they stock. The employees are always quick to help but also great about letting customers take their time browsing, which is nice since it's easy to lose track of time looking at everything!

What a find! I went to store today trying to solve a difficult challenge (bleach stains on a suede jacket). The person who helped me was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. Best of all, she pointed me towards a group of water based markers that fixed my problem. The store is packed with tons of interesting supplies. I could easily spend hours browsing around. Always love this local staple, there is no better art store in Santa Barbara for basic supplies to your more specialized medium and the tools that go with it. The staff is great and more than helpful when I have been there, but they will also give you your space and let you browse around and do your thing. Now I know that they have a area in the back of the store that does framing which I have no idea about the quality or price so just a review of art...
