If you're craving for an amazing and well-made crepe, made from fresh and vegan ingredients which leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated after eating, go to Crepe Bistro now! It has been one of my best-kept secrets place to go for the past 8 years.
Highly recommend you give this store a try! I haven't tried all of the items on their menu yet but my favorites are avocado, royal and Italian for savory crepes. For sweet crepes, sweet works and French affection will have your heart. Any of their smoothies are top notch, but I especially enjoy the Green Goddess one.
Crepe Bistro is conveniently located off Bascom Rd exit on 880 Highway in Santa Clara. It looks modest from the outside looking in, flanked by a laundromat and a copy center. There are decent number of street parkings available in front of the store and it tends not to be crowded. I can always and easily find parkings every single time I come here.
Crepe Bistro has everything you need for a great and heathy vegan meal. Their selection ranges from savory crepes to sweet crepes, salads to açaí bowls and yummy smoothies. Their prices are reasonable and their portions are HUGE! Usually I split my food with another friend as we can't never finish ours.
The store is well lit, nicely decorated, neat and clean! It's a self-serve type of restaurant. After you order, you'll receive a buzzer which lets you know when your order is ready. You'll grab water, utensils and napkins at the self serve station, then pick a seat of your choice. They have a side seating section which features artworks from local artists. I always enjoy a slow weekend here eating crepes and look at those amazing artworks. If you have your dog with you, opt for the cute outdoor seating area. You also clean up your dishes and trash upon finishing.
Their crepes are what really set them apart !! The crepes are made to perfection, right amount of flavor and brings you to heaven with every bite! I always feel full yet refreshed and rejuvenated after eating such fulfilling and well-made food!
The staff is also very friendly and accommodating here. Overall, this is one of my favorite restaurants anytime I crave for something healthy yet fulfilling. Highly...
Read moreDelicious Crepes is a great addition to the neighborhood. They have an interesting largely vegetarian and organic but quite diverse menu. Its not only crepes. Lots of Eastern European/Russian items on the menu. Most of the items are very reasonably priced. Service is friendly and attentive. They have real china and silverware. (I really like that). Nice interior, inviting to hang out (and do some work on the computer). You can even sit outside nicely with fresh flowers on the table. Free WiFi.
Food is very well made. They clearly care. Portions are very decent. The Crepes & Soup combo (nice bowl of soup for an additional $2.25) is a real good deal. Coffee was good. They do single brew as well. The smoothie was good but it was more like a mixed juice than an actual smoothie with the respective texture. (But I'm sure that is something they can fix as they settle in). The smoothies are the only things on the menu that felt priced too aggressive. For the small portion $3 to 4 would be more appropriate.
This place is both good for coffee drinks and breakfast as well as for lunch. It does compete fairly heads on with the Starbucks a few shops North in the same strip. If that leads to the Starbucks trying a bit harder and to Delicious Crepes staying fresh and not getting complacent, then it's a good things. I hope this is not going to be a zero sum game. I like to see both places stick around. It'll make for a better neighborhood. With the demise of the nearby Mission City Coffee there should be enough residual demand for a coffee house, hang out place in the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, Delicious Crepes currently closes at 4:00 PM, not open at all on Sundays. They are supposedly working on extending their hours. Great if they stayed open for dinner (say 10:00 PM) and had Sunday as well. If they want to really make a difference, I could see some live music from local bands go well. (Mission City did very well with it).
Overall great place. With lots of potential. Really like to...
Read moreAfter previously searching for hours, days, weeks to find a good vegan breakfast place (and tofu scramble to boot) around San Jose, I finally found Crepes Bistro and decided to try it out for my birthday brunch. As a vegan, good experiences at restaurants are far and few between which made our visit to Crepes Bistro even more amazing. We were greeted by the owner, Musab, who let me know that everything on the menu is completely vegan aside from the mozzarella cheese if you choose to add that to a dish. He provided his recommendations and I decided on the Tofu Scramble and the French Affection Crepe - my boyfriend (non vegan or vegetarian) landed on the Italian Crepe and House-Made Fries. To say our food was absolutely delicious is an understatement - this was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had and by far the best birthday meal (and experience) of my adult life (the tofu scramble was my favorite and I'm now obsessed and can't wait to go back again)! Musab kindly gave us two pastries to try on the house, personally checked in on us mid-way through our meal, and gifted us two ginger shots after our meal (WOW!). It is extremely rare to find a restaurant with insanely delicious food AND to feel truly valued as a customer. I will forever remember my 32nd birthday brunch at Crepes Bistro thanks to Musab and the rest of the kitchen crew. Thank you for making me...
