It’s nice to finally find a high-quality burger joint in Santa Clara. I’m surprised it’s from a chain no less. They’re not afraid to actually season their food, and that makes all the difference in the world. People demanding salt-free food have ruined the public dining experience with mediocre food options. Fortunately Eureka! isn’t afraid to buck the mould.
My only real complaint is the price, but frankly, if you aren’t eating here all the time the occasional indulgence is totally worth it. And you already know you shouldn’t be eating food like this all the time!
I added a bunch of pictures outside this review, so the only one I’ll add here is to show the quality of their beef. With that diet this beef is loaded with beta-carotene in its fat content, which means this is some of the most nutrient-rich beef you can get your hands on. It doesn’t hurt that it’s delicious!
For my first time here, I tried the following:
Beer Sampler: surprisingly affordable. I definitely recommend it.
Mac N Cheese Bites: ridiculously good. I doubt you’ll find better ones outside something homemade.
Double Smash Burger: my first “real” smashburger (sorry Smashburger chain!) and I was taken aback how delicious this simple burger was. I had to take most of it home for 2nd dinner. It’s a Hobbit thing. IYKYK.
Truffle Cheese Fries as a burger side: the color of these isn’t the most flattering but wow they’re delicious! No need for ketchup when you’re eating this stuff.
Atmosphere: pretty laid back standard bougie bistro burger joint atmosphere. Loud enough for somewhat private conversation, unless you’re sitting right next to other people.
Service: pretty classic American style. They won’t pay attention to you until you put the menus down, but once you’ve ordered they’ll check in to make sure your drinks are topped off and you don’t need anything. Paying the bill was thankfully pretty fast.
Closing thoughts: I’m glad I don’t live next to this place with extensive disposable income....
Read moreStepping into Eureka! restaurant with my co-workers was like diving into the culinary equivalent of the Californian gold rush of 1848! Only this time, instead of mining for gold, we were prospecting for delicious dishes and boy, did we strike it rich!
The star of the evening was an innocuous item on the menu titled 'Steak Salad'. I had initial reservations about this hybrid creature, stuck somewhere between the meat-loving part of my brain and the ever-so-guilty salad conscience. But folks, let me tell you, this dish was less a compromise and more a diplomatic breakthrough between these two arch-enemies.
The steak was seared to such perfection that I'm convinced the chef must have a PhD in 'Culinary Thermodynamics'! And the salad? It was like a ballet of fresh greens doing a delicious dance on my taste buds. The dressing was present but unassuming, like a well-behaved house guest who knows just when to chime in.
Now let's not forget about the service. My glass of iced tea was subject to what I can only describe as 'miraculous perpetual replenishment'. I swear, the servers at Eureka! must be in possession of the elusive philosopher's stone because my glass was never empty. They clearly defy the laws of physics, and I, for one, am not complaining.
In conclusion, if you're a food explorer who loves a delightful surprise or a steak enthusiast ready to take on a luscious leap of faith, Eureka! is your gastronomic El Dorado. I left with my belly full, taste buds tantalized and a new found respect for the harmony a steak can find within a salad. Dare I say,...
Read moreMy son and I came in around 7pm New Years Eve. The restaurant was a quarter full, with a lot of employees working. This place came highly recommended by two different friends that commented on my Instagram regarding a delicious Dennys Slamburger post. We sat and waited for a waitress for 5 minutes and I had to get up and walk to the bar and asked the bartender to take the order. Despite the servers, and the staff walking around nobody seemed to notice us much. I ordered a beer, a chicken sando, my son a cowboy burger and we both upgraded to the cheese fries. I must say my expectations were really high and I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. It was a step above Chili’s and and not worth the $56. I guess we were paying for the “hip” ambience. Now the stout beer “New Modern” Ginger bread edition was really good! As for the service, our waitress never came by except to pick up our plates. The server dropped off the food and not once did anyone stop by asking if I wanted another beer, water etc. The funny thing is on the receipt it gives you % and anounts of how much to tip the waitress and I left a fat zero! It’s unbelievable that they suggest a $12 tip for absolutely NO SERVICE and Applebees quality food. No thanks Eureka! Dennys Slamburger trumps your burgers and Popeyes $4.99 chicken sando beats your $17 spicey...
