Came here with a 7pm reservation on a Tuesday. Did the Tomahawk Tuesday meal which includes 2 salads, 2 sides and 2 desserts. For the salad, I chose the seasonal pickled nectarine salad and my friend went for the wedge salad. The 2 sides we had were the brussels sprouts and the lobster chipotle cheddar mac & cheese. The salad was decent but I had requested to have it without the red onions and repeated that to the server but it was still served with the red onions. Instead of sending it back, I just picked them out of the salad. Both the serving size of the sides were big, almost the size of an entree at other restaurants. The lobster mac and cheese was very rich and creamy, with only a few small pieces of lobster meat and they tasted a little dry, therefore not worth the extra charge to add on the lobster. The brussels sprouts wasn’t the best I have had as well. Fortunately the Tomahawk was very good. Nicely cooked to medium; charred and crispy outside, and juicy and tender inside. I’m used to eating wagyu beef in Japan and the last time I had a good steak in the US was in Omaha, Nebraska. Haven’t had a tasty steak in California since…So this was a good treat to my taste buds where I can actually taste the quality beef for what it is. However, it says 35oz prime Tomahawk on the menu, but it seems smaller than that to me…just compared it to the pictures posted by other reviewers confirmed most likely I’m right about it being smaller than what it should be. Most of them had the Tomahawk taking up the entire serving plate but the one we got barely took up more than half the same size plate. Also, I recently had a 16oz bone-in ribeye which was just slightly smaller than what we got here. So it is safe to say at most our steak tonight was around 25oz…too bad for us I guess. The Tomahawk Tuesday meal also includes 2 desserts and the server offered us the option to take them to go which seemed to be what most patrons chose to do since most of them were probably feeling stuffed by the time they finished the main course. I however was comfortably full with room for dessert and therefore chose to have it at the restaurant. We ended the meal with the chocolate gooey brownie and the chocolate lava cake. My friend who loves sweets thought both desserts were too rich and too sweet. I usually do not have a sweet tooth and prefer desserts that are not too sweet. But in this case, I thought the desserts were actually rather good as the rich deep taste of the chocolate sort of balance out the sweetness of the lava cake for me. Both desserts had very similar taste profile, but I do prefer the lava cake. The restaurant was packed for a Tuesday night and we sat in the inner dining area of the restaurant which was completely packed. All tables were occupied in that section. Since it was busy, naturally the noise level was rather high too. But you could still carry out a conversation since they didn’t have loud background music which most restaurants do these days. Although it is supposedly a high-end steakhouse, there is no dress code and almost everyone was dressed very casually. The atmosphere definitely does not feel high-end at all. Felt almost like a regular steakhouse. I would recommend the restaurant if you want to have quality steak. I didn’t give the restaurant a 5-star rating since there is plenty of room for improvement based on...

I never write a bad review, but this was where we went to dinner for my 40th birthday and I regretted it from the moment we walked in.

Now I will say in advance that the food and service is normally decent, but they really dropped the ball when we went in a few nights ago for my birthday dinner.

We had a reservation for 9pm. We were on time for our reservation. The moment we sat down the waiter rudely says "do you know what you want to order cause we're closed". My husband and I looked at eachother in shock.

It's fine if you close at 9pm, but why then do you have an online reservation booking platform that allows people to make a reservation at that time? Seems pretty ridiculous.

Then we hurried and rushed our ordering to try and be sensitive to the fact that these people want to go home, only to be met with lousy and very slow service. We didn't even order cocktails or appetizers cause we felt like such an inconvenience. Which again in hindsight, why should I feel like an inconvenience on my own birthday when your restaurant let us make a 9pm reservation?

Our food took almost 40 minutes to come out, and no one came by to check on us or give us updates. By this time we just felt so awkward and wanted to leave cause it was very clear no one wanted us there, even though there were at least 5 -7 tables still getting serviced.

The last straw for us was that we finished our dinner (again, very quickly) and we just kept waiting and waiting for my husband's cheesecake so we could leave. He ordered their steak and lobster which automatically came with a salad and dessert, so we just wanted what we paid for so we could hurry and get out. But we waited at least another 30 minutes after finishing our food and the cheesecake never came.

By this point we just requested our check and left, without our cheesecake. I won't ever be returning here again. And while Alexander's is a further drive for us, we'll be going there from now on. Alexander's service is top notch and would never be as bad...

Decor is nice, classic. Enter to the hostess station and rectangular bar. Crowded! Seated right away.

Dined on a Tuesday for the Taste for Twosday special. We got the 35 oz tomahawk steak, 2 side salads, and two desserts for $145. Not really a spectacular deal when you think about it but it’s ok. Our third person got the Ahi tuna poke stack appetizer and lobster bisque because she wasn’t that hungry. Bread comes to the table and it was warm and delicious. Especially with the whipped butter and some flavored butter which I didn’t catch the name.

The bisque was excellent! Creamy and naturally sweet. Chunks of lobster. But serving size and amount of lobster is less than Mastro. Poke was yummy too! Comes with tasty crackers.

Salads were, well, salads. One Caesar, one Fleming’s. Nice opener and both were good.

The tomahawk was very good. Got it medium but next time I’d do medium rare. Tender and delicious. Well seasoned. Rendered fat.

Mashed potatoes were yummy but the Mac n cheese was awesome. Love the bread crumbs on top and cheesy flavor.

Dessert was cheesecake and chocolate gooey butter cake. These are pretty heavy after a big meal.

The food was good but the service not as great. Loooong wait time for the food. Maybe 45 minutes. Thought maybe the waiter forgot to put in our order or something. Then more delay for dessert and get the bill. Wasn’t expecting more than two hours for dinner. This dropped the...
