Made this a stop on our honeymoon regrettably
Starting with the good. Hotel was very clean, room was ready, the room was tastefully decorated and spacious for location and value. Wifi worked well. Chromecast in tvs worked through sign in process. Marketplace snack area for snckshad a good selection.
For the negative which I hope to be specifically for our trip:
I got food poisoning from the restaurant downstairs and lost the first day of travel from that. This can happen anywhere and sucks but what counted was the kitchen sendingup gingerale and fruit and doing all they could to remedy the situation. The manager of the restaurant was very involved in doing all he could and clearly cared.
On the website and through signage it says there is laundry on the second floor. The room was accessible through our room key. I needed change and asked the front staff for change for a 5 in quarters for laundry. They gave it to me. When I used the machines it leaked on one side so I went to tell them so they wouldn't have potential issues from this. Instead of being sorry for something being broken or thankful that I reported the problem I was told there wasn't a laundry room for guests and that there wasn't signs. There is a sign by the ice room saying guest laundry to the left. A maintenance guy came up and helped with the water and closed off the pipe. Someone came and put up an out of order sign so this wouldn't happen again. That's perfect until someone came and said hey we will let you finish but this room is out of order like I had missed the sign. I was the one who said the room was leaking and watched another staff member put up the sign.
Main complaint is the situation feeling like I was being gas lit, the staff members working the front desk and gentlemen using zero feels felt found or any sort of empathy for trying to listen to their guests frustration.
Food poisoning I can get over especially when a wonderful team from the kitchen does all they can to make up for it.
I would not want to book here again due the front end staffs lack of willingness to try and take care of a frustrated guest.
Hope others have a better experience and this hotel gives good stays for the holiday...
Read moreI stayed at Hyatt Centric Santa Clara from September 21 to 24, 2025. While the room and location were fine, I experienced an unacceptable situation on the night of September 24 around 10:30 PM with the female manager on duty.
Throughout my stay, I had received two complimentary bottles of water each day, which I considered a nice standard of Hyatt’s hospitality. However, on this night the manager refused to provide water, insisting there should be a policy tag in the room stating that water was not complimentary. In fact, there was no such tag or service booklet in my room. She came to check herself and confirmed that the notice was missing — yet she did not apologize. Instead, she implied that I might have discarded the tag and said she did not want to look through the trash. When I offered to check myself, she dismissed me.
Most shockingly, when I requested the water, she said she would “waive” the charge — as if she were doing me a favor — even though I had already received complimentary water every previous day of the same stay. This response was disrespectful, inconsistent, and far below Hyatt’s expected standards.
If the hotel had clearly posted a notice that water was not complimentary, I would have planned differently (brought my own, rationed it, or chosen another option). The lack of clear communication left me no choice and created unnecessary frustration.
This experience left me very disappointed not only with this property but with Hyatt’s brand standards overall. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures consistency, transparency, and professionalism...
Read moreA $20/day parking charge and $100/day for incidentals is a bit much for this type of hotel. The pool is good for the kids. I called 2 or 3 hour prior to our arrival to request a crib in the room because I knew we were going to get there in time for the baby to go down for the night. On the phone, some person seemed to take the instruction and said "ok, it will be there" and I asked "do you have the name?" (he didn't), I proceeded to give him the last name on the reservation and he assured me it would be there. What do you think happened? Not there when we got there like at 8pm. We had to ask the front desk (twice) to send one... They also don't really have cribs, it's a pack and play, which is an important detail. A young guy came within 15-20 minutes and he put it together quickly and very well, with a cover and all, which was nice - I didn't ask him to do it, he just started doing it. Overall, the rooms are pretty small and the bathroom is tiny with ultra low ceilings. There are 2 TVS and I do like having the separate living area and bedroom, feels less like a jail. The place is sterile and uninspiring but the rooms are clean and cleaned daily. I only mention that because some hotels have stopped doing this which is inexcusable. I would have given this 3 stars but I lowered one because of...
