Red Robin will always be a solid favorite burger restaurant. My wife and I first ate at Red Robin ten years ago at the Thousand Oaks Mall branch, and it’s become a sort of comfort food go-to for us. We’ve been to a branch in Owings Mills MD, and Harrisburg PA - the quality has been consistent. The quality only kind of dwindled during the lockdown, when we moved to the Bay Area; then again all restaurants were affected at that time. We went to the Rivermark branch a couple of days ago, and it was just as great an experience as the first time. The quality had returned although the service was a bit slow. We were trying to see how many people were in the kitchen, and we counted probably three cooks. It took a while for our two burgers to come out. I guess understaffing is still a bit of a problem in restaurants these days. Anyway, our orders came out, and it was really good. I got the Smoke and Pepper while my wife had the Southern Charm, our two favorite burgers. We also had the onion rings and bottomless fries which were done perfectly, complimented by some ranch dip and campfire sauce. Onion rings come per order, fries are bottomless along with an assortment of other sides which you can switch with the fries. The thing I like about Red Robin burgers is that they aren’t stacked tall. You get all the fixins, and it’s still easy to eat with your hands, as in you can bite into the sandwich and get a mouthful of what’s in it, without making a big mess or having the burger slipping out the other side. THAT’s the way a sandwich should be. The servers are always nice and attentive. I just hope orders come out faster than it did during this visit, not an issue at all because the meal was worth it! Parking is free and almost never a problem at Rivermark Plaza. It’s maybe a 20 to 25 minute walk to Levi’s Stadium from Red Robin, so drop by before a game or show next time you’re...
Read moreThere was a distinct change in Red Robin's management/policies that moved them from the top of my favorites list to the very bottom.
This particular restaurant used to be extremely clean, the staff were professional (courteous, attentitive, conscientious), the food portions sufficient, and wait times reasonable. But, about a year ago, we noticed a distinct change that earns them a failing grade. We gave them a chance, we gave them many chances for we thought it was just a temporary problem, but after a year, it's gotten worse.
Basically, there appear to be critical shortages of waitstaff and busboy's. As a result, there are long delays to be seated, and yet a survey of the restaurant shows half the tables are empty because they haven't been bussed. After being seated, the wait person disappears for 10 minutes and after taking you order your lucky to see them again, you even have to chase down your own check. My only problem with the adult portions is that the notion of "never ending fries" is a misnomer because the waitstaff never return to ask if you'd care for a refill, the same is true of drinks. As for the size of the portions of child's meals, they are ridiculously deficient, should you happen to have a ten year old. We've had to order the same meal twice, until we finally just started ordering adult meals for the kids.
You had become too much to bear. Again, it didn't used to be this way, Red Robin used to be as the top of our list. I cannot tell you what happened, only that in our opinion it's no longer a pleasurable experience.
Of course we don't wish to say anything bad about anybody for we know the staff are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. So our complaint is directed at management for after all, they are the...
Read moreFound this nice Red Robin location as the great mall location closed and I was craving their steak fries and ranch dip for our weekday date with the hubs. My favorite meal at Red Robin’s is bottomless fries! I love it here but it seems the service here is still lacking as well as many of their locations in the Bay Area. This place is actually the best looking restaurant and modern compared to the other locations. It’s also a very busy location. We came right at dinner time and a crowd filled the place after us. I was surprised.
Friendly host and servers but servers seem to take on other tasks than their assigned tables or I think the place doesn’t have enough servers especially, this location. We always had to flag someone to assist us and that was super annoying.
Our burgers were cooked right but they didn’t ask how we wanted our burgers to be cooked though. It was super greasy as the oil dripped on our plate and fries. The steak fries and garlic fries were good as always, and you need to have it with ranch instead of ketchup. It’s the best. :D The garlic fries didn’t have enough garlic though and at least, it’s bottomless. I guess prices have really gone up. What happened to the ten dollar burgers. Haha. Ordered their strawberry lemonade and it was tart and lacking sugar.
Since it’s a nice location and restaurant, I would try it here again when I’m craving fries but not go when you are super...
