12/2/16/2023, should have read my prior review. Same rating. This time owner has negative remarks for staff. Was going to charge me $7 for onion rings when menu says reg $5, large $10. I had ordered reg. She gave $2 off but I was still being charged $7 tax. Definitely last time coming to this place. 2/27/2022 at 9:24am. Have been here 11/27/2016 and 1/27/2018 and never had the owner be so rude towards me. Previous recent posting shows that I am not the only person to be rudely treated. Place was not crowded. Was told to sit anywhere we wanted. Waited 5 minutes to get a menu handed for 3 people to share. Waiter took our order and did not tell us "No Substitutions". At top right corner of menu, it says "No Substitutions". The owner delivered our food. Showed her that what the waiter wrote does not match what is being served. She acted very upset at us and said "No Substitutions" and walked away. According to menu, teriyaki chicken with Asparagus comes with rice. Waiter wrote no rice substitute fries. We were expecting fries. When we try to show owner she kept saying "No Substitutions" and walked away. Not a big deal. But how about the Teriyaki Mushroom cheesesteak? We ordered Teriyaki Mushroom cheesteak. Menu says Teriyaki Mushroom cheese steak comes with rice. You serve with french roll. Owner refused to acknowledge that I got french roll. You can see in the picture, I got french roll.Also, what about mushrooms? Can you find mushrooms in the picture? Yes, I could find 2 slivers of mushrooms. Owner was rude in not wanting to listen to the fact that the food served does not match the menu or what the waiter wrote. Essentially, walks away so I had to eat what was not on the menu. I feel like I had to eat what they serve me. I did have the option to pay for the coffee and leave the food untouched since the food served did not match what was on the menu or written on the bill. See attached pictures. Never had been so rudely treated as if I wanted to take advantage of the restaurant. All I was seeking was an apology of the order misunderstanding and the waiter should have told us "No Substitutions". This would have resolved the Teriyaki chicken with Asparagus over rice. An honest mistake. I am still confused about the menu Teriyaki Mushroom cheesteak over rice. Why did I get a french roll when the menu said no french roll. My partner and I came to this restaurant for a late brunch. Our waiter was very kind and did a good job. We ordered an item that has avocado in it, when the plate came the avocado was too raw and was black in color. We spoke to the waiter and he took the avocado back and told us they didn't have any ripe ones and would reduce a small amount from the bill due to the lack of avocado (note this was not avocado in the side, it was part of the dish and written in the menu). When we went to the counter to pay, the owner behaved very disrespectfully to us when we reminded her to deduct the amount for the avocado from the total. She started arguing with us telling us that we should not be talking about the avocado and that if we don't like it not to come here again. She further went on to berate our waiter and prevented us from tipping him. She snatched the card from my hand and skipped the part where you tip the waiter. This was her form of punishing the waiter for doing his job when he offered to reduce the amount for the avocado on the bill. This was extremely disrespectful to both us and the waiter. I paid the kind waiter (god bless his soul) his well deserved tip with cash. I have never experienced such an abhorrent attitude from a restaurant owner to their own customers and staff. The owner, an elderly woman was very rude and her behavior towards us and the waiter was unacceptable. It's completely unfair and unprofessional to disallow a customer to tip the waiter. I sincerely hope that no one else has a bad experience like this. I feel it is my duty to call out disrespectful behavior such as this so that others may not face it and also to let the restaurant know that treating people this way is NOT OK. Read moreOur first experience here was decent but the 2nd visit unfortunately wasn't great. I ordered the California burger and upon receiving the burger the owner lady came to the table and grabbed the plate back from us saying that it was missing an egg (California burger doesn't come with an egg) she brought the plate back to the table with the egg and then was corrected by one of her staff that indeed didn't need an egg so she took it away again. As she was walking back to the kitchen she dropped the top bun on the floor and then proceeded to put the bun back on top of the burger and then after a few seconds she brought the plate back to the table with the dirty bun. We had to ask the kind waiter to change out the bun, which he said he did. Another couple walked up to us after a few seconds and said that they didn't end up swapping the bun. I didn't ask for a new burger because we wanted to trust the staff with them saying they did provide a new bun. When we went to pay, we politely addressed the owner letting her know that she should have never put the bun back on top and continued to cuss at us and throw it in our face that I still attempted to eat the food. We will not be eating here again but we really enjoyed all the waiting staff, they are really kind and considerate but had the worst experience with the owner. She didn't wear any gloves while dealing with the money and then touching guest food which is a health hazard. AGAIN, the waiting staff were really kind and considerate people. Its just unfortunate that the owner lacks the same standards. She has poor customer service and then proceeded to get defensive and rude (cussing at us) when confronted about our problem.
