Denny's — Restaurant in Santa Clarita

Literally just left this establishment and this one was the most disappointing one I’ve been too. We went in and no one was there. Literally the only customers in the restaurant. The sever that sat us down and took our was so quiet it sounded like she was whispering when taking our orders. After the food was brought to us she never came back to check on our drinks or food. Like she disappeared. When we did get our food my boyfriends skillet came out first. My food came out 5 mins later. The food was the worst part. My boyfriends skillet was burned completely on the bottom so he was only able to eat off the top. I ordered the new garlic pepper corn steak with mashed potatoes and zucchini. My potoatos were luke warm at best and watery. The zucchini was not cooked all the way. It tasted like they only put in in the pan for 30 seconds. My steak was the biggest disappointment the garlic butter had so much garlic and salt in it that it made the meat very salty and I couldn’t even take the actual steak. When I took my first bite all I got was fat. The second and third bites were fatty as well as the rest. The fat pretty much outweighed the meat which if you are like me a super fatty steak is not what you enjoy. For me I had a few bites at best, and my boyfriend only got half of a skillet because they burned the rest of it. We would have complained and let them know but our server never came back!! Horrible experience. We waited outside to be called for a table and kept checking in with the hostess every 5 minutes. Finally went in again and saw that they were past us on the list. Hostess tried to say that they called for us and even went outside, except we were right by the door next to the newspaper machine the whole time. Finally got seated and proceeded to wait over 15 minutes for a waiter to come, while watching other tables have their orders taken when they were seated after us. As well, we had at least 5 different waiters walk right past our table without so much as a word or any acknowledgement whatsoever. The waiter finally arrived to take our orders and then did not return after bringing drinks until our food arrived. We were never given silverware nor offered drink refills. When he served us our food, he said he would be right back with refills for drinks, but did not return and chose instead to continue to serve other tables. After we were done with our food, he finally came back with a drink refill. Being Labor Day, I came to this establishment with an open mind and expecting a bit of a wait, but this whole experience was unacceptable. I will not be returning and will let all of my coworkers know not to either (we stay at the Best Western next door often due to travel). It took 15 minutes to get our order taken, and then she brought a large glass of ice water; the only one who asked for water was the child, who also asked for chocolate milk. Thirty minutes later, the waitress brings the kid’s Mac-n-cheese with side bacon and my 3/4 of my grand slam meal. It takes another 20 mins to get my husband’s salad. At that point, we had to ask for the kid’s chocolate milk, my husband’s soda, and the rest of my meal, which was bacon. The kid’s chocolate milk ended up being an adult one. After I finish my meal, the kid finishes hers and my husband is almost done, does she finally bring bacon that looks like it never saw the flat top. After pointing out that I asked for it well done, she stood there and asked if that meant I wanted it redone. So, waiting another 10 minutes to get the bacon. We have been here for over 2 hours before our order was finally delivered. Mind you, the people who came after us had their orders taken and brought to them before our first stage of food arrived. Oh and not to mention the large chocolate milk for the child was so full and without a lid that the moment my kid tried to take a drink with a straw it spilled all down her front soaking her shirt...
