Okay so it seems it’s a hit & miss with this restaurant. Some love it and others don’t. I might be on the side of “don’t”. The food, it was ok. This was the first Thai restaurant I’ve been to where your food comes out in less than 10 mins. Crazy. But once I got my food I can see why. I was there by myself and I ordered two dishes. Chicken teriyaki & green curry. I’m not used to having my curry in a for of soup, it came in a bowl with lots of broth. I’m used to eating a thicker — sauce? I’m not sure what to call it but the curry I’m used to eating is much thicker than what I receive. It is as almost a chicken soup. The chicken itself, was bland. There was no seasoning and I’m thinking the chicken is cooked separately and then added to the broth but the chicken wasn’t there long enough to get the flavor. Moving onto my second plate, chicken teriyaki… this dish confirmed what I stated previously. The chicken is cooked separately and without seasoning. It was bland. Even with all the peanut sauce on it. Somewhat the same issue as the first dish, the bottom of my plate was covered in a broth. Not thick enough to call it a sauce— sooo! Maybe this is a thing with the restaurant. Maybe. The dishes came with a salad and soup. The salad was a pinch of greens. Like extra small serving size. One dish came with like three spoon of peanut sauce. The second one came with half a table spoon of peanut sauce. There was a bit of a sour(?)/carbonated(?)— something was off about the peanut sauce… maybe on its last “eat by” date. The soup, was definitely not to my liking. And that, I’ll put on me, maybe it’s just me. It’s on the sweet side. So again, this one might be me. I took a picture of the to go box just to show you the ration of chicken and veggies you get. My highlight is the Thai tea… oh man, that was delicious!!! And what a beautiful way to present it!! I absolutely love it. I asked for an apple juice and it came in one of these. lol. Cute but funny. Moving onto to the atmosphere… it was nice and calm. A quiet unit at the end of the plaza. Maybe I came early, this might get loud later in the afternoon but I was here at 12:30ish on a Wednesday. Now, the service. At first, it was nice. Typical hospitality. It didn’t last long. I notice there was a table waiting to be serviced (get their oder in) and then it was me. Well, while I waited, I decided what I wanted to eat. I was ready to order, the other table still hadn’t been serviced. Then someone came in, must have been VIP. Cuz he got the attention of the waitress. After sitting him down, she hustled her way to the back and came out with his appetizers. Went back again and was there for a good min. Finally she comes out and service the table before me. Then it was turn. I thought it was a bit rude.. but I guess you gotta keep your VIP happy. That man left fairly quickly. (No check was brought to him). Non of my business. It is what it is. However this is to my next point, when I was ready to pay- I ALWAYS give tip in cash. This lady brought me the credit card machine to pay. And I said no tip, she said, are you paying cash. I said no, I’m paying with my card. She said “but the tip” — I said the tip— and she interrupted, I can’t change it… so NO TIP? And she said it loud… I’m sure the party next to me heard. It was that very uncomfortable feeling when they ASK for a tip. Like it almost makes you not want to leave a tip. I thought this was very rude of her. I still left a tip. But dam it! I hate when servers decide to act this way. It’s not that it’s happens to me often but I’ve heard stories of other people in the same position. It’s very unprofessional. And again, even after my experience, I was going to leave tip in CASH. But greediness and inpatient makes people act out of character - I guess.

When Taste Meets Quality everything turns out better! It’s been a minute since I’ve tried some great tasting Thai Food. And it’s here in SCV! This place is a hidden gem, so don’t let the old school location make you feel uneasy. Just go, order and Enjoy! 👏 First off, after reviewing some Google Reviews this Thai restaurant was the highest rated out of the few here in Santa Clarita. However I never tried it till today, and I’m glad I made the right choice! Parking is good, and this welcoming atmosphere of a place is something to be at with a date, friends or even your solo getaway! The inside was clean, and felt like a Authentic Thai Restaurant with modern flavor. The staff are friendly, and I really wished I sat and ate. But opted for Food to go on a late Thursday night. At first the menu was priced higher than other Thai Restaurants so I wasn’t sure if I was getting a bargain. But upon eating dinner at home with their Signature “The Rich and Famous” Pad Thai, Crispy Tasty Rainbow Trout, and Homemade Style Wings, I knew right that second why this Gem is Called “Mom Can Cook Thai Kitchen!” Bite after bite, the priced matched the Taste! That much that I kept eating more than I can handle! Lol. Definitely a pleaser, and coming back for more! Sadly another location has been a great go to place that I’ve earned a great friendship with might not get my business as much anymore. Because this New Finding is a New Favorite for me! Thank you guys!

2019.06-02/1430: I gave them four stars because we didn't get a chance to dine inside. We arrived there and it happened to be their lunch time and they had stop taking orders earlier. Once they told us they were done until dinnertime, we kind of just stood out front because we didn't know what to do. We came all the way out from North Hollywood to visit our friend in Canyon Country just to eat here. He's a frequent customer and completely forgot to tell us about their break time. It was at this time they opened the door and said they would cook us a take away order! I guess that better than nothing so we agreed. We knew there was not another Thai restaurant that we wanted to visit - it was the whole purpose of us coming out to the SCV. They had let us in and we placed our orders. They even offered us waters. Holy smokes, the restaurant from the outside is deceiving! The interior is so beautiful! I can't wait to dine in the next time we visit! For a take away order, it was delicious! We loved their Papaya Salad and Rad Na! We will definitely be back to dine in!

Everything was good EXCEPT for the wontons - which came effectively empty of any of the potato filling we ordered.

After eating my second one which had nothing in it, we asked the waitress why there wasn't any potato in it (see image) to which she pointed and said oh but there is a little bit right there. When asked if it's supposed to be so little you can't taste anything but the wonton she said yes... If that's truly the case, i would recommend not getting it. Maybe Thai wontons are different than other wontons??

Papaya salad was also a bit of a bummer. They put the papaya part of the salad on top of large chunks of cabbage so it looks like more than it is. And the large chunks are rather lazy and making eating it less enjoyable considering it's normally a shredded salad. And possibly most importantly, skimpy on the peanuts.

The positives though: good tasting food despite not having the freshest ingredients - moms special pad Thai and the panang curry is a YUM. Would come back just for that.

Spice level: this is real Thai spice not American Thai spice. On a scale of 1 to 10 a 6 was spicy for Koreans. So...

Service: attentive but not necessarily your smile and strike up a conversation type. Not good or bad just depends on what you like from your service. She was nice to help decide between a few options we were thinking about and was honest about how many plates were enough rather than pushing for ordering more.

Conclusion: the star is the panang curry and house special sauces such as that of the moms special pad Thai. It's why they get a 4 instead of 3. Focus on that and everything's good. Would come back? If seriously craving Thai curry in scv. Top of mind? No. Recommend? With...
