The food is ok. It’s not great, and it’s not bad. The chicken salad is decent. The problem with Moon Wok is they are extremely dirty and very unsanitary. First, our first impression were the plates. We were given plates that had old stuck food all over them. We told the waitress and she brought us two more plates. Those too had old food all over the bottom. So disgusting. Next, we ordered hot tea. We love good hot tea at Chinese restaurants. The waitress brought us a cup , not a pot of real Chinese tea, with a Lipton bag of tea in it that was so disgusting it was careless, reckless, and so unsanitary. The cup was all chipped on the rim where you would drink from. I’m talking razor sharp cut your lips broken chips all over the rim of the cup. It was a black cup, and the entire rim was all white chips.anyone from 20 feet away could easily see how damaged and broken this cup was. For the waitress to not care and try to serve us that clearly showed us how cheap, how careless and unsanitary they are. We sent it back after showing her. She didn’t care. No apology just rude. Even the fork was old and barely clean. You are given one napkin and one fork. No spoon. No knife. No extra napkins. No water refills. Nothing. Really cheap place. If you were to tell me they take the leftovers off the plates and add them to the next order, I would not be surprised. You just get that type of feeling here. The white rice comes in an old kind of wooden bowl. It was apparent that they just leave whatever rice the previous customer didn’t eat in the bowl, add some more white rice on top, and serve it to the next customer. Oh my goodness this is disgusting. Really really cheap and unsanitary way to run a business. We ordered the string bean chicken and it looks amazing. In fact all the dishes we saw looked amazing. The problem is that they have very little taste. They are pretty tasteless The chicken salad looked and tasted of. Again,, not amazing, but not bad either. There was only one waitress who does everything from wipe tables to serve food. Yes, with the same hands. She just wipes off the food onto the floor and then carry all the plates to the back, grabs the next dishes and serves them. Pretty unsanitary. I can only imagine how unsanitary the kitchen and the food they serve is. Bottom line. We will not...
Read moreI am not high-maintenance, but If you don’t like to be disrespected and not treated like a human being then DON’T come here. I am SO UPSET about the quality of service here it is ridiculous, sad because I thought the food was okay. First of all I see an employee wiping his face and touching his phone then dealing with food. I then waited at the front for minutes with out being acknowledged by anyone despite me saying hello. I brought a local flavor (kind of like a Groupon) for $10 off $20. I got to the restaurant to pick up my to go order and showed the manager the local flavor. She immediately starts being rude to me saying you can’t take it to go. I politely asked why I cannot take it to go and she shows me at the bottom of the Local Flavor “no takeout” in tiny letters. No other place in Santa Clarita that does local flavor says you can’t take it to-go. I apologize to her saying I did not see it and would she mind letting it go this time and next time I would dine in. She immediately goes on a rant about how that is not OK and why would I let you take it out, etc. She said SHE WOULD RATHER THROW OUT THE FOOD IN THE GARBAGE THAN GIVE ME THE DISCOUNT I PAID FOR, just because “you aren’t supposed to take it to-go.”
I OFFERED TO TIP she said no. I offered to sit down and eat it and dine in AND leave a big tip and she said no. She started SCREAMING at me and there were customers present. I kept my voice low and calm the entire time despite being screamed at.
I don’t understand why she would rather lose a customer that spends a lot of money at this restaurant rather than letting a ten dollar coupon slide. That’s what I call ghetto. I would have offered to pay full price and forget the coupon, but she kept being so rude.
I will take this to my massive social media following and tell all of my followers not to come here. When I left I started crying because I felt so mistreated and don’t know why anyone would treat another human...
Read moreThis would be zero stars if it were an option. I try to avoid writing negative reviews, however this one is warranted. We had been patrons of Moon Wok for several years, but due to a decline in their food quality and an increase in prices, we found better options. Against my better judgment, I stopped to pick up dinner for my elderly mother and my kids. My mother and I placed two separate orders. I was disappointed to find out when I got home, that my two identical entrees were wrong. I ordered chicken and received shrimp. I called the restaurant to explain the situation and was treated so rudely, as if I was the one who made the error. She admitted that her cooks got the order wrong and was upset that I was calling to get what I ordered. I asked her several times what she was willing to do to compensate my inconvenience, offer free delivery, a refund, or discount, and she hung up on me. I spent $50! I drove 20 minutes back to the restaurant to pick up my order only to be greeted by a hostile employee. Since there were no name tags, she was heavy set, unpolished and confrontational. I asked her why she was acting so aggressively towards me. I had just walked through the door. She was discourteous, ill-mannered, and unapologetic. I asked for a manager, and she said there was no such person. Interesting. Although untrue, that is their issue. At any rate, another reviewer said it best, the food was like eating breaded jerky. My jaw hurt from trying to chew it. I finally gave it to my dogs. Prices are outrageous for the quality and customer service is nonexistent. You would be better off eating at Grand Panda. The food is great, the portions are huge, and the customer service is wonderful. Panda Express is even better quality. As for this woman, based on her unrefined manner, their seems to be a lack of education, which will lead her to a bright future of customer service-related jobs. She should adjust her attitude and learn...
