When they moved out of their Bouquet Canyon Rd. location, I thought they went out of business because of bad business practices, and it was good riddance. Now I see that they just moved so they are out to make more customers unhappy. I see from the reviews that people either love them or hate them, and I get it because they may be pretty good with basic things and when nothing goes wrong. But when you're a loyal, long-term customer like I was (several years), inevitably something is bound to go wrong eventually, and that's when their claws come out.
I've spent hundreds of dollars and brought every antique clock and watch I owned to their store. I usually spoke with Eddie. He kept telling me they were ready, so I kept bringing them back home in a big box time after time, only to find out they were not working. And when I came back with them, they took them in, and the cycle started all over again, until I finally gave up.
At the same time, I brought about a dozen watches to replace batteries. My whole collection. After they replaced the batteries, the watches were dying way too soon even while being turned off and not used, and they kept telling me on some of them that they did not replace the battery in this store, so I'd have to pay again. But they did. That was the only store I was going to (my mistake!). They apparently failed to mark some of them, and I couldn’t prove it because I had so many.
What broke the camel's back was that I finally brought my favorite watch. A simple Casio, but it had a lot of sentimental value to me, which is why I was so careful with it, so much so that I always serviced it myself. Really, replacing a battery in a cheap Casio watch is very simple, but this one time I accidentally pinched one of the buttons when closing it back up, so it was pressed in, so I couldn't adjust the time. And since I was in the area, I decided to stop by and see if they could just pop that pin out for me – I figured there’d be no harm in that. But when they opened it, they lost the little speaker spring (about 1mm thick and 2mm long, so I get that it may be easy to lose). When I told them, after testing the watch, that it doesn't beep anymore, and I said I think I knew why, they told me that I was the one who lost the spring!!! NOT true because I always use the handy timers on the watch when I exercise, cook and just about anything, and I KNEW it was working just fine before I brought it in because it beeped loud and clear same day after I changed the battery, every time the timer went off! But when I told them that, they started yelling at me in front of other customers, then they threw me out of the store and in the process told me that they'd call the cops on me!!! This sounds just like the experience of other customers who posted negative reviews on here, so BEWARE because this is what they turn into when something goes wrong!
I was able to buy the little spring online and replace it myself, but like I said I lost hundreds of dollars because they never really fixed my antique clocks. One of them has to hang about 35 degrees crooked on the wall in order to work because I'm guessing the pendulum is completely off balance, which it was not before, it just kept stopping for other reasons - needed oiling or something. AND it slows down when it’s time to wind it when it didn’t before, and speeds up after it’s been wound, which again, it never did before because there was a special spring or something that kept it from doing that, which again, I think they lost. And they called it "working"!!! One other, a steeple clock they worked on, my husband fixed himself and now it works like a charm, and another antique clock is just sitting motionless because that's how they "fixed it" - it keeps stopping.
They should be ashamed of themselves - they have no business serving the public. Every business has an opportunity to shine when something goes wrong, either make it right or refund the money, but instead, that is when they literally blow up, yell and curse at customers, and threaten to call the...
Read morePoor customer service. Had him re-set a 2 1/2 dollar Indian head coin into a ring for me. First I asked for him to use rose gold and he said that he would, then without contacting me, he went ahead and used yellow gold. Second he mounted it so that you cannot see the date! Third: He said that he would mount it to my specifications which is a bezel on the back and he put 4 bend over tabs and soldered it in, then got solder all over the back of the ring and took a pick and scraped it off putting deep gouges into the coin. The ring was still loose in the setting when I picked it up. He also buffed it so hard that the feathers in the Indian head dress were barely visible. He said that I brought him a piece of junk and that I ruined the coin. If that was the case, then why did he take on the repair job that was above his abilities? He said that he did not buff it but you could see solder and scrape marks all over the back where he tried to clean up his poor workmanship. When I brought it back with my concerns, I couldn't even get all my points out without him yelling at me and demanding that I leave the store and never come back in front of other customers screaming and cursing at me. What happens to customer service? I wanted to discuss this with him but he blew up at me and threw me out of the store throwing the ring down on the counter. I spent over $450. on previous repairs, this is how he treats...
Read moreTook my ring in 6/7/24 to be sized up and replace 2 diamonds that fell out. It was ready the next day. 2 small specks were put in with spacing. I called to let them know. Went back 6/10/24. As I spoke to the owner The guy who fixes the jewelry jumped up and ran over to the counter telling me he didn’t do it he fixed the other side. What a complete lie. Why would you fix something else. It was very clear he messed my ring up. The owner claim he wasn’t arguing with me but he was telling me he believes his employee, so I took it as he was calling me a liar. Bad customer service. The guy who fixes the jewelry was mean mugging my husband and I from the time we entered the store on Friday and today the same but with a mad face like he had an attitude. They will fix the ring but now it will take a week. I just hope my ring is one right when I go back. I will definitely update this review after I get my ring back. Customer service is everything when...
