Clean and small restaurant located in a plaza in Santa Clarita. The menu was simple and a bit pricey. If you want your food spicy, there are different levels, Spicy 1, 2, and 3. Under BBQ Plates, we got the Short Ribs (Black Angus), House Special - Bibimap, Honey Sweet Potato Fries, Corn on the Cob (original or spicy), and beverages. When the food was ready, we picked it up and began to eat.
Drinks The Oi Ocha came in a plastic bottle, which tasted like unsweetened green tea. I like the Hawaiian Ice Tea a lot! My little one got Ramune, Strawberry Flavor; it's a fizzy drink that kind of taste like strawberry.
Food The Short Rib BBQ (Spicy Level 2)Plate was severed with brown rice, deep fried green beans, and a salad; all on one plate. I didn't eat the salad, the rice was fine, green beans were lightly battered and crisp. The Short Ribs was sweetly marinated but a little tough to eat. Next is the Bibimap (Spicy Level 2), which is a rice bowl with meat. You have a choice of beef, chicken, or pork; we choose beef. It was served in a bowl with brown rice and assorted vegetables. The beef was tender and flavorful. If I came back, I would order these two items again. I saw a lot of pictures of the Honey Sweet Potato Fries so I was curious. Interesting combination, it was really sweet, crispy, a little salty, and sticky. It's basically sweet potato fries drenched in honey. I wasn't a fan of the Spicy Corn on the Cob (Spicy Level 1) the sauce didn't taste good with the corn.
Tip ~The Spicy Level 2 was surprisingly really spicy!
Notes ~The dishes doesn't come with Kimchi. It cost $3 for a...
Read moreThe meats definitely have the "flame broiled over charcoal" flavor of Korean BBQ. The pork belly is very thinly sliced, like 1/8th inch thick, marinated with perfect seasoning, between 4-5 ounce serving. The rib eye is a full steak, but thin sliced to about 1/4th inch, also 4-5 ounce serving. If you like spicy food, I recommend having it cooked with #2 sauce and getting a side of #3 sauce. #2 is typical gochujang sauce; mildly spicy (less than 1,000 Scoville units) and will leave you wanting more spice. #3 is like Pain Is Good brand habanero gochujang, which is 50,000 Scoville units and ordering it with #3 already on it makes for a nose-running eyes-watering dining experience. The "Plate" meals include salad with balsamic vinegar + oil dressing and 2-3 tempura green beans with gochujang mayonaise and a scoop a rice. Their food is 10 out of 10 and I eat...
Read moreNeeded a good post workout meal when I decided i would try this Korean place down the street. I ordered the Pork Belly Bibimbap and my girlfriend got the Chicken Bibimbap. I got spicy sauce 2 and she got spicy sauce 1. As someone who survived in Korea for 1 year this place smelled just like the restaurants in Korea. The food was made to order and served in a stone pot for extra $1 (so worth it) I would have given them 5 but the most important and delicious part of the bibimbap that I had in Korea was missing. Normally bibimbap is served with a over easy fried egg that when you cut into and the velvety yolk coats everything was missing.. Instead they had like an egg crepe folded and sliced. Other than that everything else...
