They know how to make a satisfying vegan sandwich! (5/5 green stars) Café Delmarette has a nice cozy feel. There’s an outdoor seating section looking out onto Pacific Ave., and indoor seating with a few tables and a window counter. I had the vegan sandwich special (around $9, incl. tax). I was also tempted by the grilled cheese (cheaper at around $6) but I was glad I went for the vegan option. It was an open-faced sandwich with cilantro pesto, herb-roasted zucchini, avocado, and pea shoots. It was nicely seasoned and came with plenty of toppings and a side of Kettle chips. I could tell that the staff members were nice by the way they patiently dealt with a guy who wandered in with some flowers, looking for a container, and then tried to pinch a few flowers from a vase in the café! I’m also giving Café Delmarette 5/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • They make their own hemp and almond milk! They also stock soy, coconut and coconut-almond milk. • Coffee from good local roasters: Verve, Sightglass, Cat and Cloud, Andytown, and Chromatic. • The menu varies according to what's in season and they use organic ingredients when possible. • Most of the menu is vegan or vegetarian and for meat they list sources (e.g., Niman Ranch bacon). • They serve organic Tcho hot chocolate and homemade organic watermelon juice and lemonade. • For breakfast you can have organic oatmeal, Strauss yoghurt and granola, or organic quinoa with almonds. Find out more at the Green Stars Project.

I can’t really say enough positive things about this place. We have been getting scones for years from here. To say these scones are the best in the world is still not doing them justice. You almost have to throw away all prior expectations and mental models of what a scone is and simply understand that these scones are beyond next level. They are light, airy, moist, and unlike any other scone you have ever had. The chive and cheese scone is my favorite with the apricot and goat cheese scone coming in at a close second. I have had afternoon high teas all over the world and not a single scone comes close to these. The owner is so nice and a very talented baker. Best scones on this earth by far!

Excellent service. First time here, i really liked it. Very professional and polite. I tried the matcha latte for the first time and it was delicious. They also sell food like soup and sandwiches that looked delicious. I will try one of those very soon. Located right next to Del mar theatre. No restrooms available and there is outside seating.

Simply THE BEST! Smaller cozy spot right off the main downtown drag with exceptional food and coffee. The inside has a couple of table/booths and there is a few uncomfortable counter style bar stool thingys. Most folks sit outside which offers a lot but has at least two rickety chairs. The menu is subject to change but locally sourced soup, salad and sandwiches are always on. You have a rotating selection of coffee to chose from-verve and chromatic being two of the more common and awesome brands-and while they are not long on flavor shot options they do have some of the most consistently perfect latte/espresso/cappuccino's . Good verging on great coffee is not all that hard to find here, but this spot nails it every single time. Simply perfect. All baked goods are made in house every day, and yeah they are sweet crumbly goodness as well. There can be lines because of the perfect coffee and super tasty food, and it's not the cheapest spot in town for sure, but it's so...

This is a very lovely place. Me and my friend Amadeo were walking by and observing the store when an old man suggested we that we try the place out. It is a small place and had seating inside and outside. The atmosphere was what made it so lovely. It smelled good and felt good. The food you were eating felt homemade in a sense. I must include as well that the prices were great. This is like the kind of place that you know just wants to make good food and spread good vibes and is not in it for the bank. I never review stores, but I felt that Cafe Delmarrete is under appreciated and many will casually walk by this place without giving it much of a thought. This place deserves as much attention as Pizza My heart right next to it gets! I...
