This is just one of the amazing places in Santa Cruz. I took a series of photographs, starting from the front door. As you look through the photographs you'll see how beautifully every area of the store is presented. I don't know if Google I going to display these photographs in a way that you can expand them and look at them in detail, but the design and layout of the exhibits is beautiful. Just beautiful.
I spoke with an attendant about this gallery, and asked about the person or people who were responsible for these astonishing displays. She told me that they were three people who had most of the design and layout say, but it seems that everybody who works there is welcome to comment and suggest changes.
If you're going to Santa Cruz, take your time walking Pacific avenue. You'll find coffee shops that do pour overs of multiple different kinds of coffee. You'll discover there's a lot to see, and if you have people in your life who just don't pay attention to anything other than the beer they're currently drinking, leave them at home.
And now, for something completely different ..... look at...
Read moreI am not usually one to leave a bad review, but this experience has been pretty bad. My husband and I bought am octopus tray years ago to use as a spoon holder in our kitchen. We designed our entire kitchen around it after buying our first house, only for it to fall off the counter when a family Member was moving stuff around. It was incredibly hard to find another one after all this time, but we were ecstatic to see OM Gallery had the same exact one for sale. We immediately purchased it and paid for Priority 2-day shipping, which I know is two business days, but it arrived a week later. Okay, fine. As long as we have our octopus tray again, it's whatever. Well, when we opened it, it was completely the wrong color! There was no other octopus tray colors listed, nor was there any statement that the color may vary! I immediately emailed them about it, but it's been 2 days of no response so far. I am completely crestfallen and and feeling ignored. The pictures I am attaching are of the listing on the website, and a picture of the broken one that we've had for years, next the the blue one...
Read moreReally used to love this place oh, about 7 years ago. I live in the East Bay and when I made a day trip to downtown Santa Cruz it was a priority stop for me. But I've noticed in the last two years in particular it seems the products they carry have become more 'made in China '-mass produced- bought in bulk- low end quality- kinda junk, instead of what at first years ago seemed to be more unique and higher end items. It used to seem like the store was almost half filled with products from local small business but the last time I was there in September of this year, I hardly browsed around and the handful of things I stopped to look at I could tell it was 'bought on Amazon' kinda vibes. Very disappointing. The next time I make a trip to Santa Cruz I can pretty much guarantee I will not come here. Such a disappointment. And all the stuff that very much looks like it's from Amazon is quite overpriced. Only giving 3/5 stars because of the good memories I have...
