I'm down near Las Palmas every week, but hadn't eaten here for ages until just after Christmas 2022. While they mostly do takeout, they also have a good number of tables inside and out. Order and pay at the counter, wait for your name to be called. I had two crispy tacos, shredded chicken and shredded beef, with beans and rice and a beer for about $17.50, plus tip. They tend to be busy so try to figure out your order before reaching the window. Las Palmas freshly crisps the tortillas and they are yummy. No pre-formed shells here. Like most crispy tacos, yes these break at the "hinge", get used to it. If you're looking for reasonably priced Mexican food near the Boardwalk and the Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center, Las Palmas is an excellent choice.

Nothing authentic about the food. The service was really good and they took my order promptly. I was highly disappointed by the tacos dorados. I grew up eating tacos dorados and was excited to eat some, but the tortilla was over fried and one taco was cracked in half. You need to get the right balance between the taco stuffing and they missed the mark. They don’t even use Mexican cheese and they dumped heaps of shredded mozzarella and lettuce, which ruined the taco. The ground beef taco was barely noticeable, but the beans were good. The shredded beef taco was better, but the toppings ruined it. Overall the salsa was decent, but the toppings were limited - no tomato or onion. Definitely avoid, but check it out if you don’t are into the American version of tacos.

Tacos, burritos, and cold beer! What more could you ask for?? Nothing satisfies you in that deep-down way like Las Palmas Taco Bar. They have all the favorites at this taqueria including enchiladas, taquitos, quesadillas, vegetarian dishes and lots more. If you’re a first-timer, try the Mexican dishes that made this place famous – crispy tacos, the Special Burrito and the Super Burrito. Atmosphere family-friendly, with indoor and outdoor dining, take-out, plenty of domestic and Mexican beer and homemade horchata.

I wish I would've took pictures before I ate it, this place is a local eatery, very small with a big taste ,wife and I spent a night at Santa Cruz, we walked around to enjoy local eateries, this place was near, too many good items to choose from such as burritos to combo plates, priced very cheap and believe me, the food had fine quality fresh ingredients, something you fined as high end mexican restraunts, you need to try , again, this is our personal experience, we will be returning...

Had tacos at La Montana Restaurante y Taqueria .4 miles away the other day and it was so delicious I came here because this place had 3x the reviews and was extremely disappointed and feel like I wasted money especially on the chili Verde tacos, they were so Watery . P.s if you want beautiful tacos go to the other place and they were cheaper -_- I don't get how people say Las Palmas is the best when they haven't tried the tacos down the street. As you can see from the quality in the pictures

Our panel held a Bean and Cheese Burrito contest sampling 4 Santa Cruz taquerias. Las Palmas won the double blind taste test by 20 points! The refried beans were smooth and salty, the cheese was creamy and spread throughout the entirety of the burrito, the tortilla had a delicious flavor and texture to it and it all came together to create the perfect mouth feel. Altogether, our panel found that Las Palmas has the premier Bean and Cheese Burrito in all of Santa Cruz.
