Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Santa Fe

Service is usually pretty fast at this location, however there are very FEW that are nice and offer professional service. I always purchase bags of Ice" or cups of Ice" at this location and I prefer a specific Ice from a different side of their Ice machine (per my preference) and they've known this for quite some time now but still insist on giving me a hard time every time I request the ice. Few that already know me and what I prefer, go the extra mile to make me happy and have even mentioned to me that several of the other employee's make comments about me and my requests saying that " I have to get what THEY give me" and they also tell the employee's when I order it at drive through "just to give me a bag if the "regular ice" and if I don't like it "too bad"!... It's pretty sad when an honest professional employee will do what it takes to make you happy by giving you what YOU want" and even going as far as to warn you about comments the other employees are saying and doing behind your back as a customer. I did report behavior and unprofessional attitudes to the manager on several different occasions however he protected his people. His attitude, with no professional display as a manager was no help as well. Without prejudice, there are maybe 2-3 employees at this location who are not of Mexican nationality. The 2-3 who are not, plus 2 who are , out of a total of possibly 20+ employed staff, are professional and extremely nice and willing to make sure I am happy regardless if it is just a "bag of Ice". The food is usually great, especially during lunch time as it's probably made fresh from the amount if people going through, dinner fries are usually leftovers from lunch along with corn dogs, Chicken strips and cheese sticks.. They always do a great job. Service is always fast and friendly (which sounds strangely like a movie title). I love the chili cheese dogs. It's been a couple years since I reviewed here, they've added these stupid mobile pickup spots where they used to have menu boards. Today I had to circle the restaurant three or four times before one of them opened up so I could park and place an order. It's also taking much longer to get food. Actually I ordered about 10 minutes ago. I'm still waiting. I suspect it's going to be cold by the time it gets to me except for the drink. It'll be warm. Sonic, corporate, pull your head out and get this fixed. You've got good food if people can get to it. These mobile pickup spaces are a waste of your time and in space. I've been watching them for a couple weeks now, at various locations, and I have yet to see anybody parked at one. Still sitting here waiting for my food, watching one of the car. Spent 9 dollars on 3 large drinks just to throw 2 of them away. All because the employees are so lazy they give flat sodas to customers. There is no way you deal with that many drinks a day and do not notice that your carbonation is out. Absolutely horrible service. The only drink we kept was the lemonade which wasn't carbonated. If you ask me $9 is way over priced for Minite Maid Lemonade. Do not trust anything. Even worse they shoced the drinks out the window and closed it.
