Pro: Great BBQ sauce, good kids hamburger for the price. Clean bathroom
Con: Complete lack of service, kids ribs were old and dry, staff cracked jokes about the price of food.
Came here when Jocko's was packed even with reservation. My local buddies mentioned Shaw's, called and got a reservation and we all headed over. Party of 12, 6 kids. We got in at 7:20.
After about 5 minutes, Kyle and a waitress came out, got water and drink, then disappeared for a while. Got our food ordered, brought our food out, and really disappeared for real this time. Begging for water was the norm with these two. At one point, I had to go find two other waitress (busy on their phones) for more water and sauce. The sauce came out first with Kyle, then after 5 minutes, our other waitress came out.
After receiving out to go boxes, the checks came after another 5 minutes. Then it was another waiting game... until we got fed up and walked to the host counter by the front door. Where our Kyle was busy locking the door at 9 pm. While other cluster of people was gossiping behind the counter.
So, the service was trash. What about the food?
My daughter's ribs might as well been the morning ribs, dried and tough. She went at it because she didn't want to wait anymore, since the baked potato she ordered was french fries when the plate came out. Potato came out after 5 minutes.
My hamburger - 3/4 Shaw's was literally a good chunk of meat on plain white bread, Kyle was nice enough to bring me some lettuce, tomato, and onions. After 5 minutes, of course. It was edible after I put some bbq sauce on it.
Cowboy steak all around me was grilled to perfection, they kind of went after the bbq sauce with a vengeance. I want a few gallons of that stuff for myself.
Tri-Tip was rubberish. The local friend claimed they could cooked better themselves.
Kids's hamburger was fine. When we pointed out the size of the the kids burger was same as the adult's burger. Kyle joked about the adult burger is robbery since he just ordered the kids burger and at half cost, he gets it for 3 dollars. Thanks buddy, that really made us feel good.
So, will I go back again? Maybe for to go order? But these folks need to step up their service. Out of all the local steak places I have visited when I am in the region, I know AJ Spurs and Jacko's won't be playing the wait game, especially with a waiter and waitress. It was a Wed night dinner and the place was not full, there shouldn't be a reason for...
Read moreEnvironment inside is cute but thats it . The only good thing here was the beer from the draft and the salad that came from a bag. The server the first one didnt even know what a stout was ....then our other server took over after 10 mins of waiting we finally got our drinks. We tell our 2nd server our food we want and a appetizer. As we are telling her our order she told us a good amount of items were out of stock. One was a baked potato. You literally have that as a major side and your out. I tell her what I wanted. 30 mins pass and we get our salad and no appetizer. 30 mins more pass and we finally get our food and had to cancel our appetizer. I cut into my 50 dollar steak and its still mooing in the hills of California. It was like they put the cow back on the plate and said here you go. The potato salad is definitely not one to bring to the BBQ. It was flavorless , potatoes were under cook and it had this flavor of pure depression as it hit your tongue. The bread was as dry as the Egyptian dessert and the fries that weren't fresh were over cooked as well. We all know that was frozen. The waiter took forever to even come our way about 30 mins when our food to arrive and she was terrible. The beer and the pre-made salad was the only thing good here and the prepackaged crackers. Whatever that wanna be salsa aka a whole tomato in a bath was ridiculous. Wouldn't go here unless you are planning to get drunk then maybe just maybe the food is...
Read morePlace was about half occupancy, not by any means. Slammed we we're seated promptly. Not offered any drinks and not seen again for 20 minutes. After eating about half the crackers on the table and not seeing any waitress had to get up and ask the hostess if we could be seen. About 15 minutes later I got up and served MYSELF a soda out of the fountain machine. 10 minutes later the waitress comes by and takes our order 1/2 hour into being seated. Ordered two cocktails and tri-tip sandwiches which they were out of. Ended up going with the sirloin steak sandwich. Cocktails came out 45 minutes after we've been seated crackers almost gone at this point. 5 minutes later I get up and ask the stewardess what's going on. We've been there for 45 minutes and we just now got our cocktails. How long much longer for the food? They said we'll see. Heard back from him 10 minutes later. 5 minutes after that it had been an hour we left. The table right next to us followed suit and did the same thing and stated that they had been there for an hour as well. I wish I could give this place a good review based on their food, but I didn't even see any food. Don't go here if you're in a hurry! P.S. AFTER GETTING UP TO ASK FOR THE TAB HANDED THE HOSTESS CREDIT CARD AND HE STATED I'M JUST CHARGING YOU FOR THE DRINKS I LAUGHED AND SAID WHAT WERE YOU PLANNING ON CHARGING ME FOR THE CRACKERS WHAT A JOKE!!!! SORRY SHAWS..... WON'T BE COMING BACK EVER...
