I was rushed to Sherman Oaks Hospital on Oct 16, 2023, about 1am. early Monday morning. Food poisoning after eating Shrimp Scampi Linguini at Bubba Gump Shrimp on Santa Monica Pier on Sunday afternoon. I FELT LIKE I WAS DYING. The sickness was so violent and painful. I was extremely dehydrated. My son Braxton got sick also. He ate Crab & Shrimp Boil. I called 911. When Paramedic arrived, they could not transport both of us because i had care of my gr'children at the time, who were asleep. Paramedic recommended that I be taken. My son stayed back, with my gr'children to call their parents. Before calling Paramedic, I called Bubba Gump Restaurant, spoke to manager Terri, and was told I would receive a call from their Corporate office. I want my $105 plus $30 tip back. We are still sick . Needless to say, I will never EVER eat at Bubba
Food poisoning update: On October 18, 2023, I responded to the "Owner" of Bubba Gump Shrimp who responded to my review posted on Google requesting I put in an email explaining the circumstances of the day of the incident. On October 19, 2023, the Marketing Team of Bubba Gump Shrimp responded to my email via email saying that they would look into the matter. In the meantime, during the week, me & my son are still feeling awful in our gut with diarrhea. On October 20, 2023, we went to Urgent Care in Woodland Hills, CA. We saw Dr. Hamid. He was so caring and concerned. He was also shocked to find that the ER doc, (October 16, 2023) did not prescribe for me the antibiotics for bacteria. Been taking the 2 different meds 2-3x's a day, hoping we will be well soon.
To date, no further contact from Bubba Gump, who is owned by Landry's Inc. In Houston, TX
Update to food poisoning case: on October 30, 2023, I received a call from Jennifer Zapata from Landry's Claims dept. We discussed the details of that day when me and my family ate at Bubba Gump in Santa Monica, CA and what happened afterwards on the day of October 15, 2023. During our conversation, I mentioned to Ms. Zapata that I would be making a special trip to Houston and that I would be dropping off pertinent information relating to my claim. I did so on Nov 2, 2023. I left the enclosed information with the Security Receptionist in the lobby. She informed me that she emailed Ms. Zapata letting her know this and I called Ms. Jennifer Zapata's extension letting her know the same. Hoping to hear from Landry's very very soon.
Update: Today, Nov 10, 2023, I received a call from Jennifer Zapata, Claims Dept. She inquired as to why I had not responded to her emails. Unknowingly for me, her emails were landing into my spam. Read moreFirst off I wanna say that our waiter had a fantastic personality. However, while we were there, we ordered several different items. After waiting quite a while for the food to arrive, one of our parties food was not brought out. Ironically, this was the most expensive item on their menu, and there was a specific conversation with our waiter, Byron, regarding the details of the menu item. When asked twice where the meal is after everybody else had been served and was eating. The first instinct was to tell us that a food runner took our food to another table. At that point, Byron attempted to try to persuade us to order something that would not take as long to cook versus what we had originally ordered. We did not want that item switched so we chose to wait until a new one could be made. Then Byron came back to the table and took responsibility for not putting the order in in the first place. Once the food finally arrived, and the overall shock of the size of the portion versus the plate price, we finish our lunch at no point did a manager come by to see if we needed anything or to apologize for the servers missed step of not ordering it or perhaps his missed Stepp about lying to us about how I didn’t get to the table in the first place. When the bill arrived, there was no discounted amount. No financial apology for causing a delay. Just full price and of course expecting a tip. Despite the urge to argue this we chose to live it lie And we paid the bill and went on our way. The implication that we came up with is that we were just tourists, we were probably not coming back, so why even try to make us happy? Answer that question should bubble Gump shrimp read this review is that we live in a town that has a bubble gum, shrimp and if that’s how you treat your customers when we are on vacation I ask you why would we visit you when we’re not on vacation? Read moreI've always loved Bubba Gump shrimpn Co... and today I brought my son for his first time after hyping it up we made our way to this particular location which was my first time at this one aswell.. I'd like to start off by saying im usually chill about over packed places and times to be seated especially seeing as I work in customer service aswell ..I know how things can get.. but after putting my name on the list and was told it would be about 20 minutes we walked the boardwalk up and back down which took about 20-25 mins.. we got back sat down and waited another 10-15 after I got up and asked the employee seating everyone he then said ohh im sorry I can seat you now .. which I also didn't mind but I had to ask him to seat us and if I didn't it would've never happend .. so after that we get to our set only to be seated and not asked or spoken too for another 20 minutes or so.. mean while others are getting orders filled and food and drinks brought out to their tables.. I finally get up and go to someone who looked like the manager and asked him if we can get someone to take our orde for drinks and food please.. shortly after we got a waiter and she'd was cool but the food sucked horribly.. I remember thiee food being really good but this location needs to go into thier kitchen and figure out what's going on back there.. I spent over 100 dollars on a meal and service that I wouldn't recommended for an enemy.. lol it was horrible .. the actual place is kind of filthy too the the menus need cleaning and are all sticky the floors are filthy and I will not eat at this place ever again and will strongly recommend my friends from out of town or the country never go to Bubba Gump shrimp Co in Santa Monica!!! HORRIBLE !
