Located on the iconic Santa Monica Pier, Pacific Park is one of Southern California’s most beloved seaside amusement parks. With its colorful rides, classic carnival games, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, Pacific Park offers the perfect mix of nostalgia and fun for visitors of all ages.

The park’s most famous attraction is the Pacific Wheel, the world’s only solar-powered Ferris wheel. As you ride to the top, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Santa Monica coastline, Malibu, and even downtown Los Angeles on a clear day. At night, the Ferris wheel lights up with vibrant LED displays, creating a magical backdrop for photos.

Thrill-seekers can enjoy rides like the West Coaster, a roller coaster that twists and turns right over the pier, offering both excitement and incredible ocean views. For families and younger visitors, there are plenty of gentle rides like the Sea Dragon, Inkie’s Air Lift, and a classic carousel.

Beyond the rides, Pacific Park offers a variety of classic arcade games, food stalls, and snack stands serving everything from cotton candy and funnel cakes to seafood and ice cream. The energy here is lively and cheerful, with street performers and musicians often adding to the festive atmosphere around the pier.

What makes Pacific Park truly special is its location. Few amusement parks in the world are set literally above the ocean. The sound of the waves, the salty sea breeze, and the sight of the endless blue horizon combine to create an unforgettable experience.

Whether you’re visiting with kids, friends, or on a romantic date, Pacific Park delivers a perfect slice of California beachside fun. It’s not just an amusement park—it’s a quintessential part of the Santa Monica experience and an iconic symbol of the Southern...

You can’t travel through Santa Monica without visiting the famous Pacific Park Pier. It’s featured in so many movies that it’d be a shame to pass it up. Personally, I found myself binging on food and went all out on trying everything. The food there is great and you have a good variety. The rides are actually more affordable than I thought they’d be and I made a mental note to return with my kids someday because they have all day passes that aren’t outrageously expensive.

Bring your fishing pole and bait if you want to try fishing. There are areas for fishing and I had fun watching and observing all the people fishing. And…they actually caught fish, so it’s not bad at all. There’s also plenty tourist shops, Knick-knacks, and other things you can buy created by street artists. Lots of street vendors on the pier. They have decent public restrooms as well. Some of the performers stop in the middle of their performance if they see you video tapping without dropping some money in their hat. So try to be respectful of street performers.

The pier does close fairly early compared to most places, so check the times before going and don’t go too late because it closed by dark when I was there in October. Not sure if that’s covid related or not, but parking is expensive in that area in my opinion and wouldn’t want you to show up...
