Hummus Xpress — Restaurant in Santa Monica

The food is mediocre, interesting flavors and combinations but the cafeteria service style is super slow and unimpressive. Price is definitely high but the area generally is expensive but you have to deliver on the food and it misses the mark. The staff is very friendly and nice but the product is just mediocre, nobody is going to line up for this food. Why is the rating 4.9, well everyone is nice and friendly so you do feel nice after leaving. I wish I could have left a better review but people need to be honest this is a terrible food idea, I don't think it could be a hit anywhere. Hands down the best falafel and dolmades I've had -- and I'm a big fan of Greek food, so that's saying a lot! They fry the falafel fresh and to-order. 100% worth any wait!!!

She's knowledgeable, friendly, and intentional in providing an excellent experience for customers. I love the warm greetings and patience while ordering from their many options.

The spreads and toppings are fabulous. I got the Build Your Own Bowl and that thing was packed full. The prices are great!!! Hummus Xpress is a gem.

The initial review was for when this same space was a Hummus Republic, at least over a year ago and a number of times before that but don't remember the dates, so I don't understand why it's posted here, but it is: Closed early again! Staffing problems still? So disappointed!!

Came on Wednesday, February 08, 2023 @ ~ 3:15pm but now it's a Hummus Express (which is very similar to Hummus Republic but which served an incredible date/hummus smoothie). Everything was good.
