Buyer Beware!!!!!
Well Well Well -
When is a Ring Outdoor Stick Up camera, not a Ring Outdoor Stick Up Camera?
When it can not operate a decent camera picture in cold temperatures at night.
Solutions tried before a Manager called me back?
De Fog Spray, De Mist Spray, Fairy Liquid, Windscreen Wipes, De Fog Wipes, De Mist Wipes.
It does not matter what you use, as it will simply freeze over any way.
But then again, if the unit required such a protective coating, wouldn't Ring have done this during the manufacturing and testing stage.
I mean 0 degrees or even minus 1 is a normal temp at night. We are not talking -30 here.
So I advised Ring the Outdoor cameras I stupidly bought 4 of was Not Fit for Purpose.
I offered them the chance to send me a stamped address jiffy bag, so they can inspect the goods in-house.
Manager - We don't offer that under warranty. But? No, we can give you a 30% off discount voucher.
Manager - Have you tried Fog Spray? Yes? Well, that's not covered under warranty?
Have you understood the FACTS of the case I presented, not my opinion, the FACTS?
My Ring Doorbell unit operates at the same temp subjected to Outdoor Stick Up camera.
Question - So why is the Outdoor Stick Up camera the only one presenting these visibility issues and then freezing over.
Answer - The Outdoor Stick Up camera is Not fit for purpose.
Ring Manager - Sorry that's Not covered under our process. We can't exchange, (Didn't want or ask for an exchange as they are All like this?). as that option is not available for that.
Question - Can you send me a prepaid Jiffy Bag?
Manager - No, we CAN'T OFFER that service?
Customer - But I think you should take this opportunity to inspect and test your goods, and I can send you the Screenshots of the different problems as they appeared on camera.
Manager - I can offer you a 30% discount on future Ring products.
Customer - Can you ask your manager or Director?
Manager - No, I've worked here 4 years, and I can tell you we can't offer that it's not OUR PROCESS.
So final word was No Exchange, No Jiffy Bag, No asking Manager, No asking Director, No Inspection, No Duty of Care, No Sale of Goods Act, No Fit for Purpose cases, No Customer Service, No Care about Customers as we've GOT YOUR MONEY and WE DON'T CARE.
Signed.

Read moreRing announced their new Smart Lighting line of products at CES 2019 in January 2019. Pre-orders on Amazon began shortly thereafter with a promised delivery date of mid-April 2019. That promise to consumers was broken the same week pre-orders were supposed to be delivered. Instead, orders were finally shipped a month late. Today, I received my order of one Ring Bridge and two Ring Smart Lighting wired floodlights. If you want everything to work as designed, you must first install and setup the Ring Bridge to act as a central hub for all household Ring devices. Installation instructions for the Ring Bridge provided by the Ring app were pretty straightforward, and I made five attempts to set it up, all to no avail. Every single time, just as soon as the Bridge successfully connected to my home wifi, it then automatically attempted to update its firmware, and all five times the outcome was the same...an error message saying "Firmware Update Failed". Troubleshooting suggestions on the app instruct the user to try again, and if that doesn't work, then try restarting the wifi router. Of course, my router is working fine in every other way for every other application, but just to humor the Ring app, I did go ahead and restart it...twice. Finally, I decided to call Ring Customer Support and spoke with Javier, who really seemed to genuinely want to help, but was just as clueless as I am as to the underlying cause of the problem. Javier did all the online diagnostics he could do to recognize my Ring Bridge and look at its settings and online status, but to no avail...Javier was powerless to offer me a solution to or an explanation of the problem. He promised to elevate the issue to the next higher tier of tech support and told me that they would E-Mail me with additional instructions. That was three hours ago, and still nothing. So, here I am, $150 down the road with a house that needs to have its security lights replaced, and no answers from Ring on why their device refuses to cooperate with its own firmware update. Are we really this unable to accomplish the little things now, too? I am so disappointed with this new Ring Smart Lighting system...terrible, terrible first encounter with Ring products. Will never buy...
Read moreI bought 2 ring floodlights cameras. Physical up was fairly easy, but the experience since has been poor. I had initial difficulty with the Wi-Fi setup. the camera wouldn't connect to my Wi-Fi. I called support and the support person told me that my Wi-Fi wasn't connected to the internet. I told him he was wrong as I was using the Wi-Fi to make the call from my cell. he continued to say that the problem was my Wi-Fi and that it wasn't connected. he told me to.go.out and buy a ring chime pro. it would help with the connection and that my net meshwork Wi-Fi in my home was causing problems with the connection. I stated my displeasure with requiring another device to buy from Ring in order to make it work. They told me I should have looked it up on the internet before I bought the camera. how's that for being strong about your device? So I bought the chime pro and I still couldn't connect. I use an android phone. I decided to try to use an iPhone and wouldn't you know it, connection. the camera is supposed to give 1080 HD but the picture wasn't that sharp, especially when zooming with my phone. I called again and another person said I should get a chime pro because my signal strength was weak. I told her that I bought one and she said I need a separate one for each device. how's that for getting you to buy another product from them? It's funny though that my nest camera uses my network, which has a good signal, and gives me sharp pictures without needing any kind of booster. I wouldn't recommend the floodlights if you want to use the cameras unless you of course wouldn't mind buying a booster for each camera and don't mind poor quality video. Also, the chime pro is within 25 feet of the cameras as they told me they...
