An enjoyable breakfast outing with friendly service and good bagels.
This bakery is a great vibe. The service is friendly, the wall of sourdoughs and begets are a delicious decoration and the music they play outside is great, ranging from Men at Work to some Italian jazz.
For $27, I got two kinds of speciality bagels (half tomato and half gravlax works) and a latte, not terrible. The latte was pretty standard but the foam was a very good consistency to where it aerated the coffee but didn’t make the initial sips pure, frothy air.
The Tomato Bagel was on pumpernickel and was good, if maybe a bit wet from the three tomatoes. Flavor wise, it was all there. It’s a very bright bagel from the crisp red onions, the earthy sprigs of basil, and juicy tomatoes which were well seasoned with pepper — enough to add a hint of spice while not being domineering. I don’t know if the bread was soft because it’s made in a Californian style or if it absorbed too much tomato juice, but it was textually placid, but the flavor was good.
An Everything Bagel with the Works is a perfect bite and this was no exception. The seasoned crust already adds texture, savoriness and umami, but the slightly burnt seeds provide a smoky depth to the sandwich. These paper thin lox were fresh but not fishy, a profile only enhanced by the brainy capers and pungent dill. Once again, the tomatoes are juicy, acidic and the red onions add that vegetal crunch. All of these flavors play delectably off of the sweet cream cheese. Also, bonus points for how massive this bagel was!

Read moreI came here for breakfast and had an awesome experience. I ordered a bagel with salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. The ingredients tasted super fresh, especially the salmon. I got an everything bagel, and it was nicely toasted with just the right amount of crunch. The combination of flavors was simple but really well done. The portion size was just right too, it filled me up, even though I came in pretty hungry.
I also had a cup of black coffee, which turned out to be surprisingly good. It was smooth and flavorful, much better than what I usually expect from a casual breakfast spot. It paired perfectly with the bagel.
They have a beautiful outdoor seating area with plenty of tables, so finding a place to sit was easy—at least around 9 AM. However, the place was already a bit busy when we arrived, so we had to wait about 15 minutes for our food. Still, it wasn’t too bad.
The location is great. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your food, and take in the calm, cozy morning atmosphere.
The service was great as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better, even with the morning rush.
Overall, I loved this spot and would definitely come back. I’m already looking forward to trying their other bagels. I also noticed a lot of people picking up their fresh bakery items, and I really want to try those next time too. It’s a solid place for a chill,...
Read moreBagels and bread are great; I’ve evangelized this place to so many friends. So bummed to write this review. Service is bad. I live in the neighborhood and come several times a week. Unfortunately, the lady working Sunday morning 7/9 was so incredibly rude to me. I asked for a “regular” bagel and she cut me off and said “what’s that? We don’t have regular. We only have original, onion, pumpernickel”. I think it’s pretty obvious what “regular” is.
After I got my order (I ordered $60 of stuff), I noticed my 4 original bagels were missing, so I went back and asked for them. She accused me of not having ordered them despite the incident above about “regular” bagels, then sarcastically made fun of me.
One of the other folks in line also remarked to me how rude the lady was to me as I left.
It’s not hard to treat your regulars, especially those making large orders, with...
