Unfortunately will never come back here. I really loved this place. But I’ve had too many horrible experiences at this point now. Twice I paid for them to “fix” my belly beads clasp and both time they did they broke within a few days causing me to loose over a hundred dollars worth in beads twice now. ( so around 300$ worth in beads at this point) When I came to buy the beads again and told them how them “fixing” it broke within a few days they said oh that stinks but didn’t acknowledge that their work cost me hundred of dollars in beads. So I bought again over a hundred dollar worth in beads and it broke again. A few days after they “fixed” it. When I do the clasps myself they will break after 2-4 years. It happens but shouldn’t happen a few days after you pay someone to “fix” it nonetheless twice in a row. And then today I go in with only 5 minutes left before they close because I live across town. But I know exactly what I want because I’ve bought these beads twice now before and this will be my 3rd time buying the same beads the helper came up to me and asked if I needed help because they were going to close in 3 minutes in a passive aggressive tone and energy. It was 5 minutes before you close not 3. I know exactly what I want because this will by my 3rd time buying the same beads It would only take 1 minute to do as I know exactly what I want. I drove across town to get here, wish I could have been there with more time but alas I know exactly what I need so it doesn’t matter. I didn’t need the passive aggressive tone and question after losing hundreds of dollars to poor craftsmanship but still decided to come back anyway only to be met with passive aggression. I left with no beads as I don’t need that energy in my beads and I don’t need that negativity when I know exactly what I want because of how horribly this place has screwed me over multiple times but I still tried again. But after ALL of this. I can not return as their work has only cost me hundreds of dollars and the negativity energy is...
Read moreYes, it's a little confusing - this address is attributed to a permanently closed bead shop with a similar but different name - but Beadahs is real and open for business!
The shop is in a courtyard off the street and there's a yoga studio nextdoor that will confuse you further into thinking you can't wear shoes inside, but provided you walk in the correct door, you can keep your shoes on! The shop has terrific ambiance with lots of wood and Indian decor. It's big and well laid out with plenty to look at without being crowded. I found several unique items here.
They have a selection of vintage beads, a lot of African beads, trading beads, lots of charms, and a good selection of tools and supplies (wire, thread, etc.) Lots of glass and one-off stuff also. I don't think they carry lots of seed beads - I'm sure they have some but it's not the majority.
They also have a work area where you can join classes or just hang out and make something with staff assistance and company. Everyone seemed very nice and helpful. I came here for the first time on the SCLBSA Bead Shop Hop and...
Read moreWHAT A FIND!! I've passed this store many times but thought it was only for a particular clientele until I went in and asked if they repaired jewelry.
I brought in 3 pieces for repair. One was a lovely charm that needed a particular type of sterling silver chain - which Beadahs had. Another was a beautiful stone from Barbados, and Beadahs found a beautiful (and adjustable) necklace for it. The final piece was an intricate design I've owned for over 30 years and the leather broke. I was devastated thinking that it was not repairable but Beadahs made it look brand new.
I thought I'd need to leave the pieces but they had them ready in 15 minutes and the price? The price was astoundingly low so I left them a nice tip. The workmanship was impeccable and is worth 4 times what they charged.
They were the friendliest and most helpful people and I hope everyone goes out of their way to support this...
