I deliver concrete at a job site across the street from this place so i had been eye-balling it for quite a while.. today i got stuck waiting to unload for many hours and decided to jump off my truck and try this place out. Walking in i noticed all the nice phrases on the walls in Spanish which made me feel like this place was more authentic mexican food than i thought. I ordered myself 1 chicken taco (to play it safe because i donāt trust many tacos spots with good tasting proteins) one asada taco, and one asada quesadilla with a hibiscus (jamaica) juice. The woman who took my order named Sarah was very polite and attentive to my needs. While i sat and waited for my order, there was music in the background to help pass time. When my food was ready and i sat in my truck to eat, everything was presented neatly and at a perfect temperature to eat without waiting to cool down. The quesadilla was delicious! It is served with a bit of guac and salad on the side and all portions were perfect. The asada was seasoned beautifully and not overcooked. The tacos were even better! Hand made tortillas are always a game changer anywhere you go for tacos, and this place did not disappoint. Tacos were well stuffed with protein, guac sauce, and pico de gallo with 2 slices of lime to compliment everything in it. I donāt usually review restaurants this fast but i am truly amazed at how good the food is in this place, so this review is within the hour of visiting this restaurant. Keep up the great work !!! No complaints whatsoever from this mexican who walked in there with his sombrero and work...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered the California burrito with chicken, and overall, it was just okay. There wasnāt anything particularly special about it. The chicken and fries inside were good, but the burrito itself tasted a bit dry. One thing that bothered me was that all the guacamole ended up in one part of the burrito, so most bites didnāt have any, and then one bite had way too much. It would been better if it was spread out more evenly. Tortilla is good, probably the only thing I really liked about that burrito.
The burrito also comes with chips and salsa. The chips were pretty standard, nothing amazing, but I do appreciate that they include them as a side, not every restaurant do that.
As for the restaurant itself, it didnāt really impress me. The interior isnāt very cozy or inviting. There are some tables and a few TVs, but it feels more like a place to grab a quick bite and leave rather than somewhere you would want to sit and relax. Itās more functional than comfortable. There is a restroom available, but I didnāt use it, so I canāt comment on its condition.
Overall, itās an okay spot for a quick meal, but not somewhere Iād go out of my way to visit again. Maybe other menu items are much better,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWife and I really were looking forward to trying this spot out.. Unfortunately, what we ordered just didn't taste that good. I got the Carne asada fries (I'm born n raised in San Diego, we invented Carne asada fries!!), they were a disappointment because the carne just was not flavored that well. My wife got carne asada and also chicken Street tacos and she was also disappointed in the flavor of both meats. To clarify, the meat did not taste bad, it just was not well seasoned. Also, the carne in my fries was a bit harder to the chew.
Some positives: I thought the salsa (mild, medium & hot) tasted good! The "hot" really wasn't that hot tho. Also, I liked their guacamole. Also, the woman who took out order was great! Friendly and patient with me at I tried to figure out my order while also tryna keep my 4 yr old from running around the restaurant. Customer service gets 5 Stars.
Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back to eat here. However, I did see a few other groups of folks eating here while I visited so it seems like some folks...
