Crimson — Restaurant in Santa Monica

What happened to Crimson? When we first discovered it about a year ago, it was fantastic! Best wrap around. We always order the filet mignon wrap. It used to be full of meat, humus, cucumbers, etc. But in our last 3 orders from the Santa Monica location over the past 2 months, there is half the amount of meat, barely any humus and cucumbers, and lots and lots of lettuce. We're bummed but will go back to ordering from elsewhere. We have called the restaurant a few times to tell them, and the first time they said it wasn't their location (Grubhub said it was), and the second time when they delivered the wrong sides and didn't follow our directions to put the sauces on the side - they didn't give us any sauces, they said to call Grubhub and didn't seem to care. Oh well. Maybe they have new employees? Maybe they want to save money and use less meat and more lettuce? Who knows, but they have lost a few devoted customers.

Here’s an update from about a year later. We went back to Crimson, hoping that the issue would have been resolved. Unfortunately, it has not been. We put in an order and received a delivery. Order was for a fillet wrap and we received a chicken wrap. The tag on the bag said fillet wrap and yet they delivered a chicken wrap. In addition, most of the contents was lettuce. We specifically ordered no lettuce in the wrap. When we called to resolve this, they told us to come back to the location to get a refund. We said we ordered delivery because we didn’t want to have to leave our house. It’s really too bad because the food is quite good. But the fact that they can’t get delivery orders accurate 80% of the time is a huge problem. We will not be giving them...

I was excited to eat here because it looked cute, had great reviews and had a fun menu. I got to Crimson at noon on a Thursday and there was a lot of street meter parking. It was fairly slow inside with two cashiers awkwardly standing there and they were just looking at me with no greeting just expecting me to know which one of them to walk up and order. I ordered a Filet Mignon lavash wrap with a side of tzatziki and a strawberry lemonade. They asked if I wanted it to go, I said yes and then sat down near the register to wait. After about 5 minutes they brought out my lemonade and it tasted like the powder concentrate but heavily watered down which I paid $3 for. I was bummed about that because it tasted like lemon water but got over it. I waited a total of 30 minutes after making eye contact with the guys who took my order several times. I finally went up to ask about the status and apparently it was waiting there the entire time. I asked “uh were you ever going to let me know my food was ready” and the guy said “we’re busy today.” No apology or anything. So I smiled and walked out with my cold food. By the time I got home 10 minutes later, the wrap was soggy and falling apart so I had to use a fork to eat it. It was mostly lettuce with a few small pieces of meat. I don’t understand why this place has such good reviews. Maybe ordering to go was a mistake and maybe a kabob would have been a better option if I had known my food was going to sit there for an undisclosed...

Food was fine, but kids personal has no idea how to treat customers, served elder gentleman with lack of respect, almost throwing plates on his table, taking off his plates standing backwards to him like your mad wife when want to show you all disrespect. The guy been remarked by that and only laugh was his reaction, if you want to be treated this way or have strong feelings to knock someones smile off, best place to go. One star added only because falafel was “fine” which can’t be said about salads and fish. During all of that upset women went in and out to pick her order and left upset that it takes her too long to wait. No music, no mood, no service. Strong smell of cleaning and no ac. Management who build nice place should take care of what’s going on inside. I’m not leaving bad reviews usually but that’s just embarrassing how nice place could be that bad managed. 91$ bill with tips for 3 person meal
