Wanted to love Palms and Patties because of their tallow fries and grass-fed meat. However, it is unfriendly and the employee was rude and condescending. We were willing to deal with the super thin, barely there burgers and enjoy the fries in tallow. Reality check for the owners: you are a burger and fries place. Having employees with a condescending attitude when you are paying $33 for two burgers and one fry is bad. They want you to walk in and order what you want and pay on a touch screen. No human interaction. My wife can't eat salted French fries or have salt on her burgers or the skin on her lips peel. And she's allergic to black pepper. It's a pretty easy change: no salt and pepper on the burger and no salt on the fries. No matter where we go it's not been a problem. The first time we came here, a nice guy took our order manually since there is no touchscreen option for no salt and no pepper. We came in a week later planning to eat here once a week. At first there was no one to help us then a guy with an Australian accent came out from the back. We expected a friendly person like before. We explained what we needed. He seemed annoyed but came around to help us with the touchscreen making it clear that he'd help us "this one time" like we were poorly behaved, stupid children, not a couple in our 60s. We already told him the touchscreen didn't have the two changes we needed. When we got to the "no salt or pepper on burger" request he said again "It's not on the touchscreen. I'll help you this one time." Then we mentioned we'd need no salt on the fries and he sighed and said, "I'll help you out on that this one time. But just this once." We explained that the previous time a man had helped us and it wasn't a big deal and we were just hungry. He seemed annoyed anyone had helped us before and he said, "We don't allow mods. No mods allowed. If it's not on the touchscreen we won't do it." I guess that is whatever speak for "modifications." It must have been about the fifth time he said, "I'll do you a favor and help you out this ONE time" that my wife and I looked at each other and said, "Don't bother. Don't do us any favors. It doesn't feel good to be treated like this." Without missing a beat, he broke eye contact and said with a snippy attitude, "Fine. Enjoy your day." And went into the back. They have super cool, high end fancy bags with cool stickers. But it's an anonymous, cold place. Order from the touchscreen, pay on touchscreen, sit in your iPhone until someone hands you your pretty bag. It's not that big a deal but there is no such things as asking you how you want your burger cooked. All burgers are cooked crispy medium well and are flattened to be very thin. The fries are part soggy and part crispy and served warm not hot. The kitchen seems chaotic. The ingredients seem very good. Consider us old fashioned, we think friendliness and customer service are important. Not making customers feel like an inconvenience. We ended up going grocery shopping and buying some potatoes, buns and went home and made our own thick, grass-fed medium-rare burgers with secret sauce. My wife made French fries in our own chicken fat. A restaurant is supposed to feed you when you are hungry not annoy you so much you go home and cook. This place could be great if they were run better. We would have gone there regularly. Now we'll never go back. I doubt management reads reviews.

NB: You need to pay extra for 100% tallow fries. Their regular fries are fried in sunflower seed oil first then they fry them a second time in beef tallow. You need to upgrade to hand cut fries ti avoid seed oils. We did not see this written anywhere and were only told this by the nice guy on the...

The Caucasian employee who’s tall with long hair, backwards hat and a mustache is in the wrong place. The atmosphere was already incredibly stale so much so that it felt like I was in an urgent care. You know how in an urgent care, everyone has a virus and thinks you do too so no one blinks or even says hi to eachother? That’s how it felt to go inside this place, place an order on a screen & pick up your meal. I’m surprised he even spoke out to say my name to pick up my order because when my boyfriend asked politely for more ketchup he literally first grabbed 2 packets and stared my boyfriend in the eye and dropped them from high. My boyfriend laughed and said I definitely need more ketchup and he did the same response, silent, grabbed two more ketchups and I swear I would relate it to “salt bae” for how it looked like he was sarcastic in how much ketchup he was giving my bf. To be honest, I said even before this exchange that this vibe of the restaurant felt so off and strange that I wanted to sit outside. We had a wonderful date all day other than this place and this places vibe was literally twilight zone. Eerie, cold, brutal. Strangest behavior from employees at a food place. Also maybe it’s just me, the color selection of the place in a light green color is a weird color for burger joints. Other than that the cute minimalistic vibe was okay.

Food wise, for the price we paid, even though the burger was delicious, I wished we had gone to a sit down restaurant because anywhere else, literally anywhere else would have been better customer service and atmosphere than that.

I went here to save money thinking okay, 7 dollar burger, that’s cool in this economy. After paying for fries and burgers for both of us it was 40 dollars. That would have been the cost of a sit down place with servers that are kind to you and a vibe where you’d have fun at, also a place that wouldn’t be stingy with their packets of ketchup. I want to say to the owners, I apologize for my review but maybe it might help to remove one rotten employee from the front lines and hire someone who will give your customers a smile and a warmth that makes you want to order more and stay longer .. let alone ever...

Palms n' Patties: Where LA's Smash Burger Scene Just Got a Serious Upgrade!

Alright, fellow food adventurers, listen up! I just had an absolutely phenomenal meal at Palms n' Patties on Wilshire Blvd, and I'm still reeling from how good it was. Forget what you thought you knew about smash burgers in LA, because this spot is a total game-changer.

Let's dive right into the star of the show: their smash burgers. They're not just "amazing"; they're next-level delicious. But here's the real kicker, the detail that sets them apart from the pack: these beauties are made with NO SEED OILS AT ALL! Yes, you read that right. You can genuinely taste the difference in every juicy, perfectly seared bite. The flavor is incredibly clean, rich, and undeniably top-tier quality. It’s clear they're committed to using high-quality ingredients, and it shines through in every single aspect of the burger.

And then there are the fries. Oh. My. Goodness. Get ready for a revelation, because these aren't your average spuds. These bad boys are cooked in BEEF FAT, and the result is pure magic. They're perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with an unbelievable savory depth that makes them utterly addictive.

If you're like me and you appreciate not just amazing flavor, but also a genuine commitment to quality ingredients, then Palms n' Patties is an absolute must-try. Seriously, clear your schedule and head there. You won't be...

I was hoping to like this place—and while the burger itself was delicious—Palms N’ Patti s really failed to hit the mark in terms of price, size, and wait time. Make no mistake about it — restaurants have a hard time. Overhead costs are high and this restaurant is just getting off the ground. Hopefully they get better. Below is my experience in each category. PRICE. I paid almost $13 for one double patty burger and nothing else. That’s a fair amount compared to other smash burger places, but not egregious—if the size was right. Which brings us to— SIZE. Man that was a tiny burger for $13. See the photos. I left starving. I’m a slim guy—and have a healthy appetite. But that burger barely left a ding. You can see from the photos how little meat there is on a double. SERVICE. They’re just getting started here so they may improve operations over time. It took me ~15 mins to get my burger. TASTE. The saving grace—the (tiny) burger was delicious. ***** Hoping this place improves. The tiny size and price makes it hard to believe it would ever be worth it for me. NOTE: This play offers a free burger if you leave a review on Google Reviews and Yelp. A lot of their recent reviews may be because of this. On the plus side, unlike other restaurants I’ve seen, Palms N’ Patties asks for your honest review and doesn’t require you to give a five-star rating in order to get the benefit. I at least give them kudos for that.

It's over hyped. It's alright. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing stand out either. The patty flavor didn't come through at all, I could barely taste the beef. The burgers are also a bit small, even as a double. The sauce is good but a bit sweet, and the pickles were soggy and floppy. Didn't really care for the pretty plain tasting diced onion either. Bun and cheese were good, and it did have a pretty good technical lace. I had the Parmesan fries also. The thousand island sauce is pretty tasty but again, a hair too sweet. They were generous with the Parmesan cheese and blanketed the entire tray but Parmesan isn't really the best choice for an animal style fry.. it doesn't melt at all and doesn't jive in flavor as well as something like American. The fries themselves were tasty. A bit like an elevated McDonald's, which is compliment. They were very good. Unfortunately I found the burger to be too unmemorable to desire trying again. There's a million burger joints popping up every day and some are properly special, so it takes a lot more than I felt the flavors here offered to truly stand out. It's fine though, you might love it. It's worth a try. For me, it was average 7/10

Visited Sat night at 7:30 p.m. We read reviews and gave it a try. Reviews were not even close to what we experienced. Waited over 40 minutes for our order. Had we known, we wouldn't have ordered. Finally received the food. This is not an exaggeration, but the patty was literally paper thin. 1/32 of an inch is being generous. Sooo thin that the bag that carried the burgers was thicker than the burger itself. I could only taste the bun, lettuce and pickles. I grew up eating legitimate smash burgers, and there wasn't enough meat to even call it a burger. I could never serve something like this with a straight face. The real tragedy in this review is that the fries were exceptional. Left their location to go get more food since my gf and I were both still hungry. If they can make a normal burger, it might be really good paired with their fries...but until then it's a hard pass on this one. p.s. your ipad suggesting a 25% tip is laughable when a human isn't even taking the order.
