If I could rate this place with less than 1 star, I would.
My 21 year old brother was denied alcohol because his ID was still vertical. Not expired. Not fake. Just vertical. Apparently in NM it's the law... Stupidest law I've ever heard of. The manager came to the table and she was VERY rude to us about the matter. He's been served alcohol at our places in NM. We've never had this problem. And for the manager to be rude about it? Wow.
We ordered queso. We had to ask our server if they had any because it wasn't on the menu, and I know why. Their "queso" is nacho cheese sauce. If they put it on their menu, what would it say? "Our premium nacho cheese sauce from Allsups."? Don't even attempt to call that queso...
Our server completely forgot to take my brothers order. Our friends we sitting at the table next to us, ordered after us, and got their food before us. And not just by a few minutes... They got their food about 20 minutes before us. We got to the restraunt at 7PM and by 8:30PM, we still didn't have our food.
A scoop of ice cream is $4. HA! A scoop of ice cream with 1 oz of Kahlua is about $8. This restraunt is overpriced.
They were out of roast beef. And another man at our table ordered the chicken fried steak... About 45 minutes after we ordered, the waiter came by and told us they were out of gravy and that he had to order something else.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restraunt to my worst enemy. It was a waste of time to even walk in the door. The staff was rude. Management was rude. I don't care where you work, you should never treat your customers with such disrespect. And if you're going to talk behind a customers back, at least do it where they can't hear/see you. And yes, it was the manager speaking badly about us. For what? Who knows... Apparently it was our fault that all that stuff listed above happened. I hope the owners replace the management. By far the WORST experience I've ever had at a restraunt... And I've had some pretty bad...
Read morePros: Food (breakfast) arrived fast, seemed well cooked for the amount of time spent. For 66 diner, it was pleasant, bit rustic but expected.
Cons: Poor service, waitress had not a single clue what methods were used for cooking. And showed little interest in going that extra step to check.
The service was what dropped this down to 2 stars. I placed a simple order of coffee and a sprite. I never got the sprite, had to walk around to find someone to ask for it. The 'sprite' was eventually brought to me with half my meal gone by then. Only, it wasn't sprite, it was water. Again, I had to search the business and intrude on another couple's order to finally get the sprite.
It's silly and can be looked at as bad timing or something. A fluke. However, there was no obvious reason for the lack of knowledge and repetitive mistake.
As for the food, I've had my gallbladder removed a few months ago and have had problems with minor IBS. Anyone who can relate knows that, no matter how hard you try, you might come off a little picky.
My few pre-order inquiries and requests are kept short and sweet.
What kind of oil or butter is used, and if possible can I have that cooked with spray such as Pam?
Can I get any condiments on the side? (So I can do my own checks and balances)
These few things are all just a routine to prevent any horrifying stomach issues and flare ups.
Our waitress didn't know what they cook with or if they even have spray and didn't know if it was possible to put condiments on the side only.
I remember this waitress from a stop by a few years prior to the gift shop attached, so in sure it wasn't a brain fart. Just laziness to convey specifics.
So, food fine and fast, service was bad and had to do a...
Read moreAfter driving for 11 hours, I had heard from multiple people, including the front desk person at our hotel that this was the best place in Santa Rosa. They completely vouched for the fact that this was the best pizza to be found in the area. I was very enthusiastic about this opportunity, as I thought the facility looked nostalgic and fun.
The place was empty when we came in and the maître D, for I don’t know what else to call him, was surly right off the start. And once seated, our server was in an even more unagreeable mood. My wife ordered the taco plate, and a beer. I ordered the personal pizza with sausage.
The taco plate was absolutely disgusting. The beans were fresh out of a can, and not even warm. The rice was congealed, obviously pre-prepared and disgusting. The tacos had stale old shells.
The pizza was obviously a frozen pizza they heated up. I would’ve done better to buy a hot pocket at the gas station and heat it up in the microwave. It was so freaking greasy, I couldn’t even eat a whole piece. And once it was put on the table, I asked for a plate. And the server threw a paper plate at me.
I get that it’s not fine dining. I get it, it’s a tourist trap. But I don’t deserve to be treated this poorly. And I’m offended as a customer, that the quality of the food, and the service was so miserable.
And I totally understand that people need to make a living. But just don’t step on me this hard, to try to make money. It’s disrespectful and it’s unfair...
