We went for our 13th anniversary. I was excited because I had done an order pick up of ramen before when my partner was sick. I instantly was transported to a futuristic world with automated delivery systems and robot waiters. I was ENTHRALLED.
So I didn't let him know any of this and we sat at the table. We were given a run down on the no-pressure, easy to use, ipad menu system. Already my partner was digging it because of the no-social pressure to talk to waiters, and how interactive the menu was. You can read more, there are really nice picture of the actual food you'll receive.
Now the first time a mini race car, stacked with shrimp, whizzed by my partners head -- oh my goodness. That is a moment I'll remember forever. He was confused, enthralled, processing.... he turned to me and said "WHAT THE HECK." A couple moments later, a robot kitty filled with dry ice(?) and food wandered by.
The food was SO good too. We couldnt even look at the dessert menu, we were SO FULL. We went right home to change into elastic pants and lay down on the floor and couches making groaning noises, while also going "THAT WAS SOOOOO GOOD"
It's a whole experience just going. But then the food is REALLY yummy on top of it. Stellar.
About 5 hours (and some digestion) afterward, we were teasing about going right back...
Read moreIt is interesting and fun to have food delivered by a sushi train, and there is a robot that wanders around talking but doesn't seem to do much of anything else.
This was our second time there. A couple of years ago we had no complaints. However, this time it was not so nice. Ordering is done with a touch screen tablet. That touch screen tablet and it's holder hadn't been washed they were filthy. I noticed that when tables turned around there was a quick wipe of the table by the busser, but no attention was paid to the touch screen tablet that that every customer has to handle to order food. I found it kind of gross.
To get the attention of servers, it's necessary to wave one down as they walk by. Tapping the button on the tablet to request service got a response about 15 minutes later. Again, to signal that we wanted a server we had to use the filthy touch screen.
My daughter's and I ordered ramen. All three bowls of ramen werr overcooked and the noodles were sticky blobs. The flavor was good, but the noodles were basically inedible.
Overall it's a fun place to visit to see a robot roll around chatting and flashing lights, and have some food delivered automatically. But if you're interested in good ramen go...
Read moreSo we went to try out this ramen place (cause there’s none in Petaluma and I’m shocked how anyone can survive without good ramen). My husband chose this spot cause it had a cute robot in the pic. When we first went there, the robot didn’t seat us and ngl I was kinda bummed but the sashimi and ramen we got was pretty good ($44 total with a can of Diet Coke), the robot then delivered our check and faith was restored :’)
Now the biggest con (but it doesn’t damage food quality/quantity) I got here was the lack of being able to customize your items. Like the ramen, all you can do is pick the protein. Unfortunately not everyone likes bamboo or naruto so it would be nice for there to be an option. Just something to consider since the menu is on an iPad so I assume it’s an app xD I didn’t wanna put it a 4 star cause I only rate based on food quality.
