If you would like to have dirty foods, come here.
It was a slow sunday morning. I came here for coffee and breakfast while visiting for the town. No one was at the cashier. Then this girl who was sweeping the floor with a broom came to the cashier. She didn't wash her hands before taking the order but I was like, ok, as long as you don't touch my food with your dirty hands. I ordered two coffee and two bagels. After she took the order she picked up her broom and put it next to the food prep station. I was getting worried so kept watching her. She did not wash her hands and started making my bagel! She cut it in halves and put it in the oven! After that she picked up the broom and moved it to somewhere else. Again without washing her hands, took out my bagel from the oven. Then she put a plastic glove on only One Hand! And guess what, that's for the hand she was holding the knife for cream cheese. Still touching my bagels with the dirty hands.
I politely said "excuse me, "sorry, I didn't see you wash your hands." She didn't say sorry and just said "ok, I will make a new one." She made one new one thinking that maybe since the bagels were toasted, only the only she touched just now is dirty?
After getting my food, while I'm still there, she was asking other employees if they wanted a free bagel. No one wanted. Who would want to eat a bagel with a broom topping? Since no one wanted it, she asked this new customer who just got there. That poor lady happily accepted. I was so disgusted, ended up not eating those bagels.
If the owner sees this, please make sure to educate your staff to keep basic hygiene.

Read moreLand and Water Coffee is a seed to cup, modern decorated coffee shop in downtown Santa Rosa. They have a second location on Cleveland Avenue Santa Rosa. Farmers travel around the world to have different types and tastes of coffee grounds. They sell bags of coffee grounds from Brazil to Costa Rica to Ethiopia. I enjoy the aspect of connecting to all parts of the world.
Although the downtown location is my favorite the coffee shop definitely isn’t. There is no spirit in this coffee shop. No color or personality. It’s another business that conformed to the “clean” and modern look. It’s very basic and plain.
I had gotten the Fruit spread (a fancy way to say jam) and cream cheese toast on organic goguette bread. I also ordered the honey lavender latte. The latte was decent. A bit more bitter than expected, but then again that may just be my personal taste. The toast was also pretty good, but I can say overall they’re over priced for their quality.
The customer service was good. Most baristas were polite. There is parking in front of the coffee shop as well as across the street in the parking lot for Old Courthouse Square.

I had the gluten-free avocado toast, which was moist and generously sprinkled with olive oil and bagel seasoning. The gluten-free raspberry tart and brownie were delicious, and the crispy chocolate croissant was a real treat. The bagel with salmon spread was good, but it could have used some microgreens to enhance the flavor.
Overall, a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend...
