I have been to this establishment several times. Not only as a delivery driver but as a customer. I have been flat out ignored my 90% of the staff, the cook is the only one who is aware at all times in this establishment. This restaurant is also very loud even without anyone in it dinning. So when were not opening and closing doors, most people wouldn't be able to hear a customer come in. Unless you look up from what you're doing and notice people are there. I have had to say more then once who I was picking up for at different volumes all within reason and never at a yell volume. To have the cook notice and tell the manager. Which lead to everyone in the staff to start yelling at me and goading me to drop my delivery order because I was upset by their bullying. Threatening to ruin my reputation as a delivery person because I stood up for myself and the customer whose food was late. If your restaurants delivery time frame is wrong then contact the establishment you received the order from and let them know your progress. If you cant do that as a restaurant you dont deserve the service. We have a choice to choose to pick up from your restaurant, if enough people decide to no longer pick up from your establishment you will be dropped and burned. Most likely other people will hear about it and choose not to purchase from your restaurant and tarnishing Mary's name. So I really think Mary's pizza needs to put up a hiring sign because with Covid19 there are 30% unemployed right now in the usa ready to take those jobs and treat everyone...
Read moreI took my wife out for a light dinner out. We wanted something simple and familiar, so a salad and a little pizza with 3 toppings at one of my family's regular spots. First, we sat down at a booth after trying to find a clean one, and couldn't. We found and sat at a table but the waiter abruptly said we havd to move because of covid and social distancing. There was only one other couple in the entire restaurant about 20 feet away and ALL THE OTHER BOOTHS WERE DIRTY! I said we would gladly move IF they cleaned one of the booths for us. Which she did and we moved. My wife is mobility impaired, so no easy task and rather ridiculous. As for the food, the salad was ok, not what I remember when Mary was alive, but still pretty good. It was heavy on iceberg lettuce and no pepperoncini and only one really thin slice of salami (a trademark). Our pizza was thin and overcooked. Like eating a cracker with tomato paste, pepperoni, sausage, olives and a little cheese. The toppings were sparse, to be kind. But it still tasted okay. It seems that with Covid, restaurants are skimping on ingredients and quality, and prices have jumped 10% to 15%. It cost a little more than $70 for a ho-hum meal and mediocre service. So its okay but I left telling my wife that's the last time I would go to Mary's Pizza. And I had been a customer for more...

I remember as a kid growing up in Sonoma our family would dine regularly at Mary's Pizza Shack (fond memories). Mary was there making absolutely sure that all here employees were doing everything right adhering to every nuisance of detail. She was as is said "a force to be reckoned with"!!! LOL I remember her carrying a broom around as her tool of command!!! When you dined here because of Mary's presence and the devotion that she readily instilled in her employees, one could count on repeated perfection of her recipes. LOVE that!!
The past few years it's been frustrating, the food is unreliable. . . Such as the garlic bread, it used to be so very DELICIOUSLY buttery, cheesy, and garlicky - fantastic, but recently it was dry and not at all buttery, cheesy, or garlicky. Sad. The pizzas are lacking the pile of ingredients that was the experience of past years. ..Miss that.
I think perhaps more training and supervising and review of Mary's recipes is necessary to put this iconic restaurant back to it's...
