To begin with, I love the Paradise Sushi chain. Ive been going to their local locations for a bit, but yesterday was the first time I tried the Hibachi location. First impression, restaurant was a clean aesthetically pleasing environment. The hosts were friendly and quick to greet, per standard. However, the service provided by (the server) Itzel was mediocre. I work in the restaurant industry myself, so I have a fair idea of what good service is, and her service was sub-par. She was not attentive whatsoevercame to refill waters once, she didn’t bother to offer with the other beverages (soft drinks) , didn’t ask how things were per standard, immediately brought boxes as soon as entrees were served quite literally (rushing tables comprises comfortability, and normally you always want to offer the option for dessert) She wasn’t friendly either. She couldn’t even write the order down correctly for the chef so he had to go back for ingredients, and she managed to get the orders almost entirely wrong as well not to mention? Honestly, only reason we tipped above the average 15% was because our chef was amazinggggg, and chefs get a % of the tip, but if i could have, i would have given the whole tip to him. He even stated that he might as well have taken our order since she failed to do the simple task of writing it down correctly. Let alone getting it right. There were 4 orders. 2 reg steaks, and 2 combos- both steak, but 1 with chicken the other with calamari. Beyond simple! Anyways, on a better note, our chef was super hospitable, just simply the ideal food service/customer service personnel. Also PSA: not sure how Paradise does birthdays, but usually restaurants comp the dessert, but she charged us. No biggie, but found it strange, because every location I’ve worked at, whether chain, or mom and pop, birthday desserts are comped. So if you’re looking for the usual free birthday dessert for the occasion take it elsewhere, because they aren’t doing it 😂 My brother, however, just really wanted Hibachi for his birthday because of the live action cooking show so we...
Read moreWe came to celebrate my 6 year olds birthday. I made reservations for 5pm to beat the dinner rush. This was the first time my 6 year old and my 2 year old had been to a restaurant like this so my wife and I were excited experience it with them.
The Pros: Our Hibachi chef Diego was awesome. He was very skilled, attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and cooked to our liking.
The Cons: The service Long time to take our order when we were one of two families at the restaurant. Our duo waiter and waitress were annoyed in every interaction they had with us. My flight of margaritas did not match the picture and when asked about the included appetizers that did not come at first the waitress had and attitude. We had to constantly ask about the all the items we ordered. We also asked for water and only my wife received with one. The buser hovering my table and one was waiting for my to finish my drink while I was enjoying it which really rubbed me the wrong way. The hand out of unsolicited to go containers when the restaurant was not even busy. After receiving our to go containers and not my 6 year olds avocado sushi roll we asked about it and our server Pedro looked like he was about to lose it on us and delivered the sushi. The check arrived without solicitation also and my wife and I wanted to order desert so we just looked at each other and said we guess no desert for us. Then we ask about the included ice cream that came with our 6 year olds birthday meal and Pedro suddenly was calm and delivered the ice cream with a candle and a smile.
I tipped the Hibachi chef and the servers fairly but I dont know if I will return to this restaurant. Instead of feeling valued my family and I felt like a bother. I spent $218 here which I to much for such...
Read moreParadise Sushi & Hibachi is a bit of a mixed bag, with some highs and some very definite lows. My wife and I came in for dinner, me for the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi and she for the hibachi steak and chicken combo. The meal started with a standard miso soup, which was perfectly fine—much like any other I've had. The side salads, however, were a disappointment for my wife, who usually loves them, and were just okay for me. For the main courses, my wife was thoroughly unimpressed with her hibachi. The steak was decent, but the chicken was overcooked, and the shrimp was also rubbery. The rice was, unfortunately, a letdown. My experience with the AYCE sushi was an adventure. At $39, the value is excellent, but a key detail is that the rolls are full-sized. I made the mistake of ordering five rolls right away, which turned the meal into a race against the clock to finish all 50 pieces and avoid being charged for leftovers. While it was my own fault for over-ordering, the atmosphere felt a bit tense. I felt like I was being watched by the staff, who were likely on the lookout for customers trying to share their AYCE rolls. The sushi itself was good for the first few bites, but the overwhelming task of finishing everything made it hard to enjoy. Overall, it's hard to recommend the hibachi side of the menu based on my wife's meal. For the sushi, the value is there, but you have to be very strategic with your order to truly enjoy it. It's a place I might return to for sushi, but I'll be starting with just one or two rolls next time. Also just a side note, this is the only hibachi restaurant my or I have ever been to that doesn't have exhaust hoods over any of the grills so the smoke and steam from the chefs cooking just fills the entire dining...
