I had a horrible experience the cashier forgot to put in my bag some items at check out. I called and a cashier told me the items where in fact not placed in my bag do to a mistake from the cashier whom was the manager. I said can I go another day to be reimbursed I will save my receipt she began to laugh over the phone. I was just so confused about what was funny about the situation. I will not be returning to shop here. I will continue to shop only at Lola's for my Hispanic food items and I recommend anyone who has not been to Lola's to shop there they offer great items but most importantly great customer service they have two locations...
Read moreThis new market has a very extensive inventory including fresh fruit and vegetables, a large meat case, dairy & eggs, canned goods, dry goods, herbs and spices and all sorts of general groceries with extra focus on Mexican / Hispanic specialties, but it really has everything you would look for in a small grocery store, and seemed to have reasonable pricing on most items, which is nice since grocery stores in the valley tend to be on the high end of the price spectrum. It's larger than it seems from the outside- much bigger than 7-11 but not as big as Oliver's or Safeway... Definitely worth...
Read moreDon't be fooled by the small footprint, El Torito is a well-stocked gem of a market. Here are a few of my favorite things:
They have an excellent fresh produce and meat section with better prices than Oliver's or Safeway and equal quality.
The fresh salsas are delicious. My favorite is the roasted tomatillo.
The store is very clean and the staff are always really friendly.
There is a hot self-serve tamale station. The green pork is my favorite, but there are always a bunch of other kinds.
Especially for folks in Rincon Valley, please don't sleep...
