We were in the hospital cuz my husband was not doing well and wanted to have good food to boost our mood. We drove 25 minutes to J’Pitaria as we had great experience twice in the past. We arrived and walked to the cashier to order as usual (we always order and pay at the cashier and never had issues). To be honest I don’t remember the name of their food/sandwiches so I just look at the picture to find what I want then try to read the name under it. The lady asked us to have a seat since we are dining in and that someone will come and help us. We went to the table and a teenager came and asked what we want and I started pointing at the pictures on the big screen which was very hard to see from the angle where our table was. The teenager started looking at us in a weird way. I told him I don’t know the names and I can’t see well from here (I had my prescription sunglasses on but still can’t see well because of the angle). I then asked him to move slightly so I can go to the big screen behind the cashier and find out the names. I also mentioned that it is hard to pick without a menu then he said “the menu is here”😳. What??? There was a menu and he didn’t even bother to tell me while he saw me suffering trying to read things from the screen with a very difficult angle. He left me and walked to the cashier and whispered in her ears complaining about me 😂. Shocking!!! You guys have zero manners and zero customer service. I went to the cashier and asked if I could order here because I don’t have time to argue with him. She then said he is my son and he did nothing to you. She then added that because I came to the cashier she thought that I know what I want. Well, I know the pic of what I want but not the name because these are meals from a different cuisine and I have no idea what they are. I only know pics. I then decided to leave because I knew that this wouldn’t be a good experience. J Pitaria, you guys have delicious food but this means nothing if you don’t have good customer service!
Well, there is a huge difference between disrespect and frustration. Can you please mention the disrespectfully actions that I did? You guys can go back to your cameras to see what happened. Basically nothing. I was frustrated because I can’t see from that weird angle and it was embarrassing trying to read from the screen. The only thing that I did was to mention that the waiter needs training and that is not disrespectful. That’s providing feedback on the lack of professionalism that we saw. The fact that he saw me trying to read and I told him that I don’t know the names and can’t see from here and yet he didn’t do anything to help not even showing me where the menu was (which he should’ve done once he arrived at the table). Instead, he went to his mom and whispered about me not being able to order, because basically I wasn’t offered a menu, which is extremely disrespectful to your customers. I remember one time we went to Balkan treat box and my husband was in pain (same like yesterday) and the waiter came to check if he was ok and brought him a glass of water and gave us a free desert while we were waiting for the food to make us feel better. A huuuuuuge difference and it is the reason they are no one Bosnian restaurant in the area. Photo of the desert from Balkan treat...
Read moreI have been a couple times and the food is decent . I feel like it is quite expensive for what you get in return but most places are nowadays . The staff in the past have never been overly friendly but not rude . Today they were rude and the lady is the owner . The inside is very very small. There were about 6 people in line so we sat down at a table with 4 chairs which most of their seating has 4 chairs except for a long bench along a wall with tables and then a hightop. At both of these options your tables are touching other tables so you are literally sitting on top of people you don’t know which I really prefer not to do . The owner came over and asked us to move and the two ladies sitting behind us to move because we are sitting at a table for 4 people and we only had two people in our group. I explained I didn’t want to sit on top of people I didn’t know and she insisted we had to move . Keep in mind the 6 people in line were not together and there are other open tables . As soon as we move a couple goes and sits down at the table and she says nothing . Are you going to sit there and monitor every single table ? I understand it’s limited seating but it’s first come first serve and if you don’t like that then buy a bigger restaurant . We got up and left and I won’t be returning . Do better at your customer service and atmosphere or you...
Read moreJ’s has become my favorite place to eat on a Friday or Saturday night. I eat here probably twice a month, usually with my wife. I used to live in Germany and this place carries the same positive vibes (and Eurodance type songs) as your typical German doner kebab joint. The owner herself is Bosnian (who formerly lived in Germany) and takes great pride in running the restaurant. The restaurant always has a steady flow of customers because the food is very very good. You can also order online. On average, it’s usually 20-35 mins to get your food from ordering due to the steady flow of orders (they stay busy). I’ve eaten the Cabbage and Beef Stew, the Berliner, and Cheesesteak Sandwich. All are fresh and taste amazing, but the Berliner remains my favorite, and I usually order it 80% of the time. They also have Mexican bottled Coca Cola. The place is always clean, and looks stylish. The owner strategically placed lots of big Mediterranean photos on the wall, and they were placed just right, giving the restaurant the perfect feel to its identify.
I plan to eat here many more times in the future, but can’t stress enough how awesome this place is. Like truly, this is a Saint Louis...
