Update: we've been coming weekly at this point. We've also brought several other people to try it and they've all loved it.
We are exploring the menu and trying new dishes all the time and this place is just hands-down winning. Their brunch jambalaya is SOOOOO good. I don't know how they keep the shrimp so well cooked (not overdone) and have such a balance of flavors.
They seem to be the only place that knows how to consistently cook a proper poached egg - they're perfect every time.
We had a bad experience at another breakfast place nearby, even after remaking it, it was actually inedible, and my husband insisted on us coming back here (even though he ate at the other restaurant) so I could have a good breakfast - and they did not disappoint!
I don't like grits - but the City Grits at Another Broken Egg are INCREDIBLE.
We ask for Annie's section and she is one of the best servers around anywhere. Annie was our server and was amazing. She brought us beneigts because it was our first time which was so sweet. She went over the menu with us. The food came out quickly and was delicious! My son had the lobster benedict and I had the crab cake benedict. The crab cakes were amazing. The English muffin was dry and hard but I enjoyed the benedict without it. The poached eggs were cooked PERFECTLY, which seems to be an impossible task for most restaurants anymore. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and the atmosphere was great. I had the salted caramel iced coffee and it was so good. My fiancé had the supreme omelet, which they happily swapped the sausage for avocado and was good. The cheese was on top of the omelet, which was a little odd, and he didn't love his omelet like my son and I loved our food, but we cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! We will ask for Annie for sure, and I'm tempted to go...
Read moreWe love brunch and have been to quite a few gems in the area that we love. Another Broken Egg is the spot where we always take people to because it's one of our absolute favorites, even after all these years. The food is always delicious, and the seasonal menus are guaranteed to have something special on them. The drinks (especially the boozy ones) you can't go wrong with. And every single server we've ever had has always been a delight.
The manager is also a real shining star at this location. Several years ago, my family came here for brunch with my 5 year old nephew, who is on the spectrum. We never know what in a new environment might be a challenge for him and what may be a cake walk. He was happy to walk into Another Broken Egg, but as soon as he saw the large ceiling fans on, he panicked and was too scared to go inside. Dana noticed his apprehension and immediately asked if turning off the fans would help. We were surprised. "All of them?" She smiled and said "Yeah! Hang on." And sure enough, Dana ran and turned all the ceiling fans off in the place. Our boy relaxed and came inside. Because of her act of thoughtfulness and kindness, we got to have brunch as a family, and he was able to feel comfortable in a new place. This woman has lived in our hearts rent-free since that day for a special memory she gave us.
I would and do recommend this place a hundred times over. You won't find a better brunch...
Read moreWe decided to stop by as the menu appeared to be great. We were promptly seated but the waiter took long time to take care of us. She asked for our drinks and when she brought our orange juices, she spilled my wife's on the table, as she was very careless. We had to ask another employee to properly clean it. We placed our order and requested for a part of it to be given to us when leaving, as it was to take home. Everything came at the same time. She didnot ask, not even one time, how we were doing; to the point that after we finished eating, we had to ask for a glass of water, which she brought together with the ticket. I was really upset at this service, so I told my wife I would wait for her in the car. A few minutes later, I called my wife and asked her what was delaying her, to what she replied that she didnot see the waiter; to my dismay, the waiter was outside the restaurant talking to other employees. I told my wife to talk to the manager, pay and leave. To our surprise, the manager was very receptive, courteous and understanding. He didnot charge for the meal and expressed, that he wanted us to return. The food was excellent, as well as the ambiance. I guess it was our luck to deal with that particular employee. I would have given the place a 1 star because of the waiter terrible service but i am giving it a 4 because the excellent manager...
