CITY Furniture — Local services in Sarasota

Worst furniture store ever - do not buy from here. I have bought furniture globally in many different countries from countless stores and this was the only time I have ever had any problems.

CITY came recommended from friends and family in Tampa, but the Sarasota location is a different story. Don't let the in-store experience fool you, it is not a premium brand.

My couch order was wrong, and management would not take accountability to make the situation right.

Delivery and set-up departments are completely disconnected from the sales process, so if something is wrong with your order there is nothing you can do once it arrives.

There is a miscommunicated return policy that Sales Agents use to get you out the door and when you call Customer Service hotline (which if you call in store, the phones will ring 40 min+ unanswered), they will hang up on you and only deal with delivery issues.

Much of the information provided at store is incorrect so review and verify everything with corporate.

Sarasota just wants to make money as quickly as possible and not detail oriented with no system in place to fix any issues. So they will ignore you if you complain.

Customer Service is only responsible for delivery and damages, not invoice or experience - so there is no one accountable for customer experience from a corporate or store level.

My items received were damaged, wrong piece, and wrong delivery selected by the sales agent and there is no one to fix it.

Manager refuses to address the issue directly with me and complaints only sit at store level do not go corporate.

A very expensive piece of furniture was a waste of time and poor customer experience, go spend your money elsewhere where the service matches the investment.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! We came to the store today to look around and look for some home accessories! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by this beautiful woman with a HUGE smile! We quickly were amazed with CeCe, she was warm, informative, knowledgeable, insightful, fun and on top of that she was NOT pushy. She let us wonder through the incredible store with something to offer everyone! My parents and my sister and I knew right away that this is going to be the store we will always come to when it comes to our homes. It has everything from bedroom to living room, to dinning room, to outdoor, to closet to garage ( yes you read it correctly garage) to mattresses, to sheets and lighting and accessories! You CANNOT go wrong! My sister bought two beautiful chairs and they are shipping them to Maryland for her! We also bought throw pillows and candle sticks and accessories! CECE made this so easy and truly made our visit a rememberable experience! Did I mention they also give you complementary glasses of wine and a barista for the coffee drinkers and cookies! We're finally starting to refurnish our house after last year's visits by Helene and her brother Milton. For our living room, we wanted something comfortable, modern and minimalist but not extremely expensive. While there are a million options online, we wanted to be able to actually sit on our furniture before we bought it, so we went to City Furniture in Sarasota's UTC. Our sales associate Bruno H., was polite, professional, friendly and very knowledgeable about City's product lines. We never felt rushed or pushed in any way. He actually moved a few pieces from one area to another to see how they looked with other pieces of furniture. Zero sales pressure. We selected a couch with 2 electric recliners and a leather backed side chair and ottoman. Bruno scheduled our delivery for the following week but told us he would probably be able to move it up, and he did - our new furniture was delivered two days after purchase. Bruno also bought us a drink at their little bar/cafe in the store. I will say the delivery guys seems awfully rushed - I suspect their delivery schedule is pretty heavy every day. We understood they would take out our existing furniture (just outside) but they said they didn't do that; not a big deal.
