Beyond expectation, Atmosphere is truly a hidden gem in Sarasota. As a person with a blended extended and nuclear family of Afro American and Italians, I felt at home immediately from the smells to the lively conversations all around. Between staff and the guests as well as the guest amongst themselves. It is easy to miss if you do not know to look for it, but it is so worth it once you do find it. I can not find a single reason why one could find a problem with this service other than if one is literally expecting a servant. Which none in the building are. You simply come with respect and you have friend for life in this place, that the team has invested blood sweat and tears into. This is not a typical dining experience where reservations or large parties are fit for unless willing to spread out. There are about 7 tables. A lucky 7. There is a bar of seats and a few outside, and the rules of seating are both clear and simple. Oh yes, and now for the food. Oh my God. I can not stress the caliber of this authentic Italian cuisine. This is not food to make substitutions to or ruin with exorbate amounts of bread. The pizza out of the fire is mouthwatering before you even take bite. The Pizza Vesuvus is a must. Zucchini Flower that you have a hard time finding anywhere else. Delicious wine choices, and when the owners arent busy (which is often) they make the time to come table to table and occasionally send a round of limoncello throught for us all to cheers to. True "eat drink and be merry" atmosphere, at Atmosphere Neopolitan Pizza . I am so grateful that they have shared their family's rich heritage with us and hope they continue to attract the like to their business. Some people simply can not understand how to compose themselves in a "mom and pop shop" that is this labor of love. Some people should just stick to convenience over quality. Atmosphere is for the...
Read moreWe ate here and the pizza was ok tasting but for the price very small and mostly dough and very skimpy on the toppings. I had heard this was a very good place so I was disappointed. The waitress seemed to be confused and messed up our order for two items so i had to wait while the others in our party ate. It did come out semi quickly after that but again very skimpy and very low protein.. We wanted a few things on the menu that they were out of. I.e. meatballs (how are you out of meatballs on a Friday night when you’re literally 3 doors down from a grocery store) prosecco, rose’, and moscato. Even with all the mishaps they charged a mandatory 20 percent tip because we were a party of 7 which I found to be very bold. They did appear to try to make it up to us by bringing 1 piece of cake (for 7 people!?!). I’ll pass this place by next time.
I dropped the review down to 1 because of the immature and unprofessional response: None of us were rude. Voicing an issue after an order is wrong for two different items and you’re out of 4 different items on the menu? 7 people going out to eat on a Friday is not a “big party” and there’s no reason to call ahead and if you can’t handle 7 people going out to eat on a Friday night, maybe rethink if you should be in business. Not even an “I’m sorry” response given and you saying here you explained something is a total lie. You didn’t speak to us. Not one discussion about it. Nobody was impolite on our end. Criticism or voicing a concern about shotty service is not impolite. I see where you seem to attack people for a bad dining experience on here repeatedly and let this be a lesson to you: if you can’t handle criticism when you’re obviously poorly managed and staffed, that’s a sign you need to either grow up or go get a job working for someone and leave running a business for...
Read moreAtmosphere is easily one of my favorite joints in town. The pizza is made from scratch, fresh to order, in the large oven that greets you as you enter the intimate restaurant. I notice many people enjoy sitting at the bar that overlooks Antonio's pizza station, where he prepares each pizza. Having eaten through the menu, I can confidently say that you can't go wrong. My personal favorite way to enjoy Atmosphere is to start with the sharable Antipasto della casa and to finish up with a Mortazza pizza (with mortadella and pistachio cream). As someone in the food industry, I notice and appreciate so much both the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Of the many times I've gotten both take-out and eaten in person, the quality is consistently fantastic. And the only thing that could possibly be better than the food is the service. As you walk in, you are always greeted by the friendly faces of the owners. They are a delight and really complete the experience - this restaurant is a true gem! Tonight, our cups never went empty and we left with happy bellies and boxes of leftovers in hand to enjoy the next day. (I wish I had remembered to take pictures - everything was so good that it was gone before I had the wherewithal to grab my phone!) I'm already looking forward to next time. Happy one year anniversary, Atmosphere!! Here's...
