Well we decided to give this place a second try even after the first visit was dreadful with flat beer and terribly slow service. Huge mistake! The service was horrendous yet again. There was ONE bartender/server for the entire outdoor section. After we were able to get our drinks the server never even once returned to our table for anything without us walking up to the bar, waiting, then asking for what we needed. We walked to the bar to get menus, to order our food, to get drink refills, and to finally receive and pay our bill. We all were planning on trying the brunch buffet but after scoping it out only two of our party of six ended up trying it out. (Any decent hotels, free breakfast buffet, is better.) And those two only tried it because they were hungry and tired of waiting for someone, ANYONE, to take our order. After walking up to the bar to place our food order we waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. One of the four orders was of course totally wrong so they had to remake it. The order came out AGAIN wrong but we just settled for it since we had waited for so long. The food itself was mediocre at best, with very small portions of fries/tater tots, but at least edible. We also had to walk around to different empty tables to find at least one ketchup and one mustard bottle that weren't empty. By the time we left the ONE server/bartender was trying to serve approximately 40 people at the bar and surrounding tables. There are hundreds of restaurants/grills in the area that you should try before ever stepping foot into this...
Read moreA outdoor bar, even a tiki bar, is a difficult concept to pull off in Florida, especially in the 7 - 8 months of 90+ degree temperatures we deal with every year. To be even remotely comfortable you'll need some serious airflow. The beachside locations have the natural occurring breezes but Hot Sands is miles inland. And right next to the main Shriners building. Add in alcohol and your going to sweat, a bunch. Speaking of alcohol, there were only 4 different beers available when I visited, bottles of Corona & Michelob Ultra, Guinness in a can & local brewery Big Top's IPA on tap. I guess they're more a mixed drinks bar. Another concern, noise. 75 feet away is N. Beneva Rd. and all the traffic and noise that brings to the party. I had great difficulty speaking with and hearing the people even 5 ft. away from me. And when I was done, the bartender had so much trouble hearing me, instead of bringing my bill for the 2 beers I had she brought me a third (which she did not...
Read moreI've been here many times before this time was so disappointing. I sat at the table for about 5 minutes before the waitress even acknowledged me, I was meeting some friends here cuz I had a little gift for them, it took the waitress forever to come to our table because yes, it's Sunday. Yes, it's football. Yes, there were lots of men. You guys women are human beings too. Apparently this waitress being a WOMAN Could care less because she had all these men to serve, She kept their drinks full. She serving them like they are priority, I was here before then. Just saying I asked for two times for horseradish and mayonnaise. I'd asked for it again. She brought me the horseradish no mayonnaise kind of sucks. Very disappointed. I will be back maybe if I have a man to go with because maybe then I will get the service that I deserve. My one friend will never come back here of the service this waitress...
