Despite some things that detracted from the experience, I'm still happy to keep giving them my patronage. I've come here plenty of times pre-covid for picking up ramen to go, and there used to be 4 tables in the restaurant. I found a few pictures from a few years ago. Now there are only 2 tables, and 1 remained unbussed for my entire dine-in visit. Probably best to just get take out unless you can be flexible on wait times for a table. My Thai bubble tea was interesting - the bottom of the drink had a white paste-like substance that I could only relate as icing like on a cupcake, which needed to be mixed in. The cup it came in was absolutely humongous, 32 oz. The bubbles in this boba tea were different from the standard black pearls, in shape, color, and texture - they're more like lychee jelly. The friend that ordered a pork based ramen loved it and finished every last drop.

Ordered takeout since they are always pretty busy! Ordered ahead of opening and got my food right when I scheduled it to be ready. We did the 3 rolls for $10, and Cali roll + 4 pc nigiri for $10, and miso soup. The miso soup was quite salty. I have a very salty palate, so if I say something is salty just know I mean it! The rolls were great and the nigiri was the absolute best. The fish is very fresh tasting. A few of the other rolls also had a slight issue with saltiness, I had to water down the soy sauce they gave us so it wasn’t too overwhelming, but overall it was a delicious dinner for an amazing price!

So this was my first time ever tasting authentic ramen, and may I say it was off the chain LOL. Not only the ramen but the sushi there is some of the best in Sarasota. Customer service exceeds expectations. Although I do not remember her name she was very friendly and down to earth. Now when you go here you have to expect a longevity of a wait. as you can see they are only open for 4 hours and are very very busy within that time frame. Plus everything is cooked to order. But I most definitely be back here!!!

Ok, so I can’t judge the Sushi but the Ramen, I can and is the only thing I am basing this review on. First off, let me state that the service was great. Waitress/To-go order taker/cashier was very informative and friendly all while doing 4 jobs in one. Also, their sake was good and they had an extensive selection. Now, on to the Ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and the only flavor I got was an overwhelming taste of sesame which is still in my mouth hours later. A little bit goes a LONG way w sesame oil! The egg, was completely overdone, and the pork was not much better and just bland. The noodles themselves are stated online to be cut daily from a pre-WWII noodle maker, and looked nothing like the pics other customers posted in reviews. They honestly looked like instant noodles and had the consistency of such. Long story short is we wanted to try a new place rather than having to drive all the way to Bradenton for a tried and true bowl of Ramen and we just should have made that drive. Maybe the sushi is what gets this place such high marks but I just don’t see it with the Ramen. This is a shame, bc so many people reviewed it well. Maybe it was just an off night which happens from time to time. I will finish by saying that I started the day craving a bowl of Ramen, and I am still craving a...

The food is really amazing but I just can’t get past a couple problems. The seating area is so small compared to the volume of sales they bring in, there are no bathrooms, it’s not handicap friendly, they don’t answer the phone to place an order, and the service is pretty bad. I placed a fairly large cash and carry out order at my last visit. The miso soup and soy sauce containers were poorly packaged and spilled into one of my sushi containers. One of the sushi rolls in the container was different from the one I ordered. The hostess was not friendly and very short with me even though I was really nice to her. I can understand if she was having a bad day because we all do but it’s no excuse for the way my food was thrown in the bag. Like I said, the food is great but I’m not sure I want to support a place like this. I recommend Sushi Bay up the street if you’re looking for good sushi, better service, and handicap accessibility. They’re a little pricier but it’s consistent.

Update I did at least try to call to express my frustration with the owner but had to leave a message. The hostess said that Goichi (the owner) doesn’t accept phone calls during business hours because they are always very busy. This is really disappointing but not worth my time so I told her to just let him know I...

Went to this place on referral from good friend. Walked in and immediately got the grease in the face smell. Ordered Ramen soup, one order of tempura shrimp and one order of veggie tempura. Lets star with the ok news. The soup (broth) was very tasty. Noodles were good. Now the not so good. The broth was very greasy tasting. Moving on. Drove 2 minutes home and opened up the cartons. The shrimp Tempura looked like someone took a hacksaw through it. It was just one skinny long piece of shrimp with I guess tempura batter scattered around. Ok, so it looked awful, but aybe it tastes good somehow. Wrong. IT was a greasy mess. You could see the grease running off. Next the veggie tempura. Opened it up and found a wadded ball of veggie pieces that you had to break apart from each other. It was so greasy you could not eat it. It also looked like it was hacked by a buzz saw. Save your money and your health Now I have to call my friend and try to explain to her that she may want to try...
