The food is terrific. The clientele is dedicated and the staff friendly, quick & accommodating. The location is a bit weird. It's not where you'd expect a restaurant to be. I like the repurposing of the building but the entry hall is also where the line to order is and it isn't really wide enough. And the menu is right at the window you order at so read fast while the person in front of you is placing their order. There is a room, at the far end of the hall, where you can eat in but a lot of people call their orders in to-go. Parking is plentiful but, whether behind the building or in the empty lot across the street, you have to climb the curb which could be sketchy for low cars like mine. I got the Chicken Pomodori sandwich. Very tasty. It took a while to get but at 12:45 pm they were slammed. It was hot enough to slow me down taking those first few bites. The herb foccacia was very nice and had just the right amount of crunch after its time in the press. If you're wheelchair or walker bound, you are going to have trouble. The hall is narrow and full of people and a couple chairs for folks waiting. You ain't getting through. All that said, I'll be back. Might call ahead, though.

This was a nice surprise close to our Airbnb. Honestly, from the outside, it's nothing special, but the line to get in? That caught our eye! It's clearly where the locals hang, especially the folks in uniform. So, we decided to check it out, even though some folks waiting for takeout were grumbling about the wait. Inside, we dug the menu and decided to grab a seat. Surprisingly, our sandwiches were on our table in, like, 10 minutes tops! And let me tell you, that pressed Cuban sandwich? Chef's kiss It's my go-to, and man, it didn't let me down this time! Overall, Maximilian's Cafe was a sweet surprise. Good food, ambiance extremely casual, nothing fancy, quick service - definitely a spot to hit up, whether you're a local or just passing through!

If you are looking for amazing salads, wraps, pressed sandwiches, soups and more then Maximillian’s is a “must stop here” place when visiting Sarasota. I live here and order from here often. Great price, fresh food. You can ask for any salad to be a wrap too! Most items come with a small side of potato salad, macrooni salad, small fruit or chips. Soups change daily and are delicious! (Secret: they make good brownies too but sell out fast). They do have seating available. This is not a fancy restaurant, reminds me more of a break room. Don’t let that stop you from eating here. Delicious food!!!

The food was absolutely incredible and a great value. I got the uptown which was delicious and a perfect lunch sandwich. My husband got the pressed Italian with bacon. The macaroni salad is pretty good. It was a very “authentic” no frills place for lunch. If you’re looking for an extremely casual, delicious, quick lunch spot, this is the place to go. We’ll most certainly be back for lunch next time we’re in town.

This is a great place for a nice and healthy lunch. The salads are big and hearty. The sandwiches have great varieties and flavors. The attention from the staff is also great. Three is a big lunch crowd and seating is limited. I call them to Deliver or I go after the lunch rush.
