Station 400 is my #1 favorite brunch spot. The first time I ate here my order was definitely not something I was a big fan of. I got the American omelet with raisin toast & hash browns. The American omelet comes with bacon, asparagus & goat cheese. It was well made for sure but I wasn't the biggest fan of the combination. The has browns were on the oily side. I was there with a friend, chit chatting away. Our waitress was very attentive. My friend ordered the strawberries & cream French toast (no longer on the menu) with eggs and bacon on the side. She really enjoyed her eggs & bacon but wasn't really touching her French toast. I asked if I could try a bite. It was amazing! The texture was great, the cream did not melt over time yet maintained its texture & thickness. I couldn't wait to come back and order it for myself. Unfortunately, it was no longer on the menu. I tried the apple croissant French toast that took its place. Remarkable! The apple croissant French toast with eggs and bacon on the side, is the only thing I order here. I've come here multiple with different friends. Always the same order. I'm never disappointed. I love to try new brunch spots. I have a few favorites but Station 400 maintains the #1 spot. The customer service is usually good. I did have a waitress who didn't take my drink/food order for about 25 minutes. That experience was very unpleasant. But every other time was great. It is pricy but the quality is amazing. They have a small parking lot and it will sometimes be full. (There is parking located in the front & back of the restaurant) I've included photos from...
Read moreMy wife and I recently dined at Station 400 for breakfast, drawn in by its downtown location and the positive buzz surrounding it. While the atmosphere at Station 400 was inviting, and our waitress was wonderful—attentive and friendly—our food experience fell short of expectations. I ordered pancakes that were unfortunately dense and heavy, with an overwhelming flour taste that detracted from the enjoyment. My wife’s eggs were overcooked, lacking the light and fluffy texture we anticipated.
On a positive note, the coffee was fantastic—rich and flavorful, and definitely a highlight of our meal.
We understand that every restaurant can have an off day, and we sincerely hope that our experience is not reflective of the usual standard at Station 400. With a menu that likely offers many great options, we encourage others to give it a try. Our visit was just an unfortunate case, and we're hopeful that future diners will have a better experience. We may consider returning in the future to explore more of what they...
Read moreI've eaten at Station 400 for years and are friends with the founders. Since the recent ownership change the quality of the food has declined dramatically. It is my understanding that the ingredients no longer come from local farms and suppliers but Sysco's homogenized warehouses. The drop in food quality is noticeable. It's no longer a chef driven restaurant with creative specials and personal attention to detail.
The chicken salad croissant used to be one of my favorite sandwiches in town - a great twist on comfort food. Several months ago my to-go sandwich was so burned it was black. The manager offered me a replacement which was fine, but why would anyone serve a burned croissant in the first place?
Today's chicken salad croissant was absolutely terrible. Not only have the quality of the ingredients changed, but the recipe seems different - bland, dry, unappetizing. The sandwich simply tasted bad and the fries were hard and hollow. I'm actually a little concerned that sandwich may make me sick.
It's sad to see a great restaurant go downhill so quickly after new ownership - we've seen this cycle many times and it's now just a matter of time until it's out of business. I have no plans on ever returning, and I have to say that a number of friends...
