Came here to try the class and was planning to start off with a series of 10 classes, but fortunately I got to experience how awfully they treated my girlfriend and what a nightmare she went through, particularly because of Cal, Meghan, and Brooklyn. We believe that Cal, Meghan, and Brooklyn retaliated after we mentioned in a review that no one was answering phone calls. At the time, we specifically omitted why... however, given the circumstances, I would like to disclose that the reason. Staff is not answering phone calls because they join the exercise classes instead of being at the front desk and working.
In retaliation, Cal and Meghan went out of their way to make my girlfriend's cancelation of her membership difficult. After my gf had cancelled her membership, her card was still charged. On February 20th, my gf spoke with Cal and asked him to return the additional $179 that was charged for a renewed membership, even though it was cancelled. He lied about cancelling her membership and refunding this amount; it never happened.
On March 19, her card was once again charged the $179 renewal. Again she spoke to Cal, who said he would speak to the manager (Meghan) and call back. Five days passed and he never called her back, nor did Meghan.
On March 24, she called them again and Cal answered. He said that he did not have a chance to speak with Meghan, the manager, and that he would leave her a note to call me back.
On the morning of March 25, 2025, after not receiving a call from Meghan or anyone at Orangetheory, she called Orangetheory again and Brooklyn answered. She asked Brooklyn to cancel the $179.00 March 18, 2025 credit card charge for the month of April. Brooklyn told her that she is unable to cancel the March 18, 2025 charge, because there is a 30-day cancellation policy and that I would have had to submit a cancellation request within 30-day of the charge. This made absolutely no sense, since (1) Cal already cancelled my entire Orangetheory membership a month prior in February and (2) March 25, 2025, the day she called Brooklyn to cancel this charge, was within 30-days of the March 18, 2025 charge. She tried to explain to Brooklyn that her membership was already cancelled and that the March 18, 2025 charge must have been an automated mistake. Brooklyn could not be reasoned with. She once again just told me that the charge could not be removed.
She asked Brooklyn to please ask Meghan to call her. Brooklyn said she would. No one called my gf back.
Finally, later that day, March 25, 2025, around 5:40 PM, my gf called Orangetheory and Meghan picked up. Meghan also could not be reasoned with. She said the same thing that Brooklyn said and that my gf had to submit a cancellation request that would take 30 days to process. My gf tried to explain to her that she already cancelled her membership with Cal back in February and that the March 18, 2025 charge was unauthorized. Meghan was extremely rude and kept repeating herself and saying that she would not remove the charge. My gf let her know that clearly we are not understanding each other and demanded that Meghan remove the charge and cancel her membership with Orangetheory and, if she fails to remove the charge, I will dispute the charge and report this incident to the Better Business Bureau. She stated my gf was no longer welcome at Orangetheory, but that she would not return my gf's money even though my gf can no longer use Orangetheory services.
Meghan failed to remove the charge and failed to send me a copy of my contract.
I observed this entire debacle as it progressed in horror. Cal, Meghan, and Brooklyn have no business working in customer service and are vindictive and vile. Also, employees should be working during business hours and not participating in fitness classes and leaving the front desk unattended.
As a result of this, my mom and I both opted out of joining Orange Theory and, of course, my gf left as well. We've been asked about our experience at OT by our family friends as well and we've shared this...
Read moreMy son and I signed up for memberships at Orange Theory in February. My son has Aspergers (High functioning Autism), so I was very happy to find a group fitness activity that he enjoyed and would stick with. First let me mention the good: Josh at the desk is great, most of the instructors were good too, though, if you're looking to learn how to perform exercises correctly or even run correctly, the amount of corrections you will receive varies greatly. Now let me get into some of the issues; The equipment is placed so close together that you're literally in each others way when you are on the equipment or even moving around the facility. That means that if the person is sick, or sweating, you're going to be breathing in and encountering their sweat and germs. Cleanliness: One of the most disgusting elements is that they ask you to re-use wipes over and over again. Basically you end up wiping your sweat all over the equipment that you're meant to be disinfecting. This is unsanitary to the extreme but it's what they do. Workout: Orange theory workout seems to injure a lot of people, myself included. I've qualified for The Boston and New York Marathons 5xs and run Boston several times. As an age group runner, I've placed in the top 3 in numbers marathons, half marathons, 10ks, 5 ks and triathlons. I've worked with some of the best running coaches and programs in the country. One of the lessons that I learned from all of that experience is too many intervals leads to injuries. If you're thinking of joining Orange Theory keep that in mind. They don't have any non-interval classes that I'm aware of so you may find yourself injured if you chose to work out there often. Customer service: This is the key to any successful business and I think the customer service at this facility is inconsistent. They have some excellent people and some who are truly lacking in skills. The management lacks the ability to maturely handle complaints from members and instead puts the issues on a person with a disability. My son loved running at Orange Theory. However, after finding out that other members were complaining about him sweating, he is no longer willing to attend. Upon having a conversation with the manager Mary, I asked for a prorated refund, as my son is no longer comfortable to attend thinking that members are complaining about him and I've been going there injured. I'm asking the manager and her upper managers to issue a partial refund so that we can use the money to attend somewhere else. At this point...
