STAY AWAY!!! We went here to celebrate a special occasion and were completely horrified with the awful non-existent service and mostly microwaved food. I expect more out of a dining experience, and you should too. What a total let down at every level. The "waitress" was almost comical in that all she did was barely fill our drinks, relying on the immigrants who run the kitchen to do the actual work of bringing our food out. We had to call her over whenever we needed a drink or to ask several times for the same request, getting answers like " Oops,I forgot". Keep in mind, there was people in the establishment, but certainly not busy by any means. On to the food. One of us got a burger which despite telling the waitress at time of order to have it cooked "medium" was cooked well done and then some. Mediocre at very best. Another had the lobster mac and cheese, this was 100% re-used/microwaved. Was chewy with a slight cat-food like aftertaste. Another had the ahi-tuna and quesadilla appatizers as the entree. Tuna was ok/mediocre, quesadilla was again, 100% microwaved. It was rubbery, with a sloppy wet shell. Lastly, one had the seafood salad entree. The fruit on the side was fresh. That was the good part. I'll leave it at that. We also were never approached by anyone in the almost 1.25 hours or so we were there, that was any type of manager/chef/FOHM/etc to ask how it was or anything of the sort. I will add the highlight was when one the people in our party heard our waitress ask someone in the kitchen to toss a few rolls in the microwave for us and then coming to our table and proclaiming..."ah, ummm....our bread warmer doesn't seem to be warming...
Read moreWow. The food here was BLAND for us. I’d give it 1.481 stars to go along with the cafe’s name, but alas, I had to round up to two stars! I ordered the “SRQ Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich…” Sssooo, you’d think it’d have at least a little bit of spice, right?? And also maybe there would be a little crispiness as well? Came out with pepper jack cheese and a TINY PINCH of some kind of seasoning, and was NOT crispy. About the same texture as the bun. The quality issues aside, how can you call that an “SRQ ‘Hot’ chicken sandwich” when there was NOTHING hot or spicy about it? I asked the waitress if maybe they sent me the wrong order, and she said “well it is the correct order, it has pepper jack cheese on it…” 😆😆 HILARIOUS! She was really nice though and not her fault the chef is off their rocker, but come AWN!!! No one who dislikes spicy food would even order that sandwich in the first place, so why would you “go easy” on the spice?? The waitress did agree to bring me some buffalo wing sauce which helped, but the effort by the chef/Mgt. was pathetic! Why wouldn’t it come with that anyway???
Back to the quality. It was not crispy. At all. It was like it was made the day before and then just microwaved. There is absolutely NO WAY at all that it was just made fresh.
My wife got the mushroom burger and said the beef was decent quality, but very bland. No seasoning or nice flavors to make it stand out. Sort of “Meh….”
Maybe it was a fluke, maybe not. Maybe they just cater to the “Vanilla” crowd??? I don’t know. But we...
Read moreJust left Patrick’s. My boyfriend and I were at the bar for Happy Hour and after ordering 1 glass of wine (my bf needed more time to decide on his drink), they forgot about us. The bartender was apparently going on vacation and discussing the work schedule with another staff member for approximately 10 minutes. Then they both walked away from the bar area to the back of the restaurant and I leaned over to another person sitting at the bar (we were the only 3 ppl at the bar + it’s downpour rain and they’re slow as hell) and asked “is the service always this bad?” She then asked me if we had ordered and I replied that we hadn’t. She then proceeded to get up and chase down the two ppl that were supposed to be working the bar to tell them that we needed to order. The blonde then came back over and I told her I wanted to pay for my wine and go. She gave me my change, said she was sorry. The other person at the bar told us we shouldn’t leave and that they had great food, then the blonde female bartender explained that the other bartender was going on vacation and they had to figure out the schedule. She then proceeded to ask my bf and I if we’ve ever worked at a restaurant before. Um, really? She then said “what, you had to wait like 3 minutes?” Again, really? So rude. So I called her out on it and she just smiled at me. Will never visit Patrick’s in Sarasota again. Stay away from this place and go to Mattison’s. Happily having Happy Hour with a bartender that knows how...
