Salty Jim's Island Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Sarasota

Great atmosphere and the food that we tasted was good!

We didn’t plan on coming here but were just looking to pass some time before he went to dinner with some people later.

It looks deceptively small from the parking lot but once you get inside the inside bar area with the pool tables is a decent size but the outside bar area is where we decided to sit.

The pickles were fried freshly in what seems to be a tempura batter so the spears were still crisp and tangy.

The bowl of chili was full of a rich tomato flavor with just a slight hint of a spicy bite at the end but they do have hot sauce to add.

All the regulars looked to be having a good time and the music wasn’t too loud so there was a very nice relaxing vibe here.

We would definitely recommend Salty Jim’s and would come back the next time we drive down...

Believe it or not, I'm sitting in Salty Jim's as I write this. I'm here to see Songaholics, with my good friend Mike Partee, and his strumming partner Chris play acoustic jams you'll surely recognize. My second time here and it already feels like home. The staff is friendly, the crowd is gracious and generous with their applause, and if I'm here on a night when Songaholics or Mike's 3 piece Thrown Together (who brought the house down with their amazing cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets) is playing, he can usually talk me onstage to do a song or 3. Prices are great, and while I haven't tried the food here yet, what I've seen other patrons order has gotten my salivary glands...

One of my favorite places to unwind and watch sports while having a few drinks. The food is pretty good here. My favorite thing to eat is the buffalo chicken wrap. Just enough spice to keep you sipping on your drinks. The staff that works here is awesome. Everyone's got a great personality. For those of you that do not smoke you can enjoy a smoke-free atmosphere on the inside. There is an outside back patio area with a bar for those that do smoke. Plenty of pool action and a jukebox.
