Updated: 1/19/2024food is still exceptional and the staff are warm and friendly as ever. If I have anything new to say it is that more people have found out about this location so wait times can be long for takeout orders. Definitely worth the wait!

The staff are amazing and the food is always delicious. A solid 10/10, no joke! You might not realize it as it's tucked in next to the Publix on Bee Ridge and Cattleman. But, they have the serious eats, and it's been a go to for years for us.

On another note please remember to be kind folks. I was actually there yesterday 6-14-22 and witnessed someone tantamount to harrassing a server, who had nothing but patience in dealing with the customer. Reminded me of the golden rule, of treating others the way you'd like to be treated. It's important!

To the lady that ordered won ton soup and complained of having too rich a won ton to broth ratio (due to your "bad stomach"), but ordered won ton soup anyway, instead of a bowl of broth. But when asked to fix it, was only interested in paying for broth and half the won tons. 1. You catch more flies with honey not vinegar 2. Yelling you cannot understand someone standing next to you, while I (from the other side of the restaurant) clearly heard every word, was somewhat rude and clearly a touch condecending. 3. Seriously, your old enough to know better, please do better!

Shout out to Anna and the server who dealt with a high functioning curmudgeon,...

We ordered the Peking duck off of the menu and it was $59.95, we did get a phone call later on telling us the price is really $85. OK that’s fine so we order it. As you can see not fresh at all and Publix is only 100 yards away to get fresh food. Instead you serve me old dried up onions disgusting just as my food was. I worked in a Chinese restaurant in my youth and I ate Peking duck virtually every day, and it was wonderful. this was the most disgusting duck I’ve ever eaten and I’ve eaten a lot of duck absolutely terrible what I recommend this restaurant to people? Only if you’re into abusing your self with terrible food and anybody who thinks that this food was good you should’ve had my dinner and let me try your dinner. With Peking duck it is all about crispy. Skin are used to cook this I learned from Chinese cooks from mainland China. As you can see in the photograph, the onions are dried out and you can see in the photograph the piles of garbage I set to the side that is not edible I absolutely would never recommend this to anybody. I will say this, though the staff was absolutely wonderful...

With so many take-out only Chinese restaurants around, finding a dine-in one is indeed a rare find. Shangri-La did not disappoint, and in fact, went above my expectations. The wonton soup was very tasty and had a nice amount of scallions and slivers of pork as well as fresh wontons. I could tell that the egg rolls were hand-made...not the frozen pre-made kind. They were so good I ordered more! An added touch with the fact that the Chinese mustard and duck sauce came in little bowls, and not in those take out packets. I love pork fried rice. It is my go-to dish at a Chinese restaurant. I ordered there special house pork fried rice oh, and it was delicious! Veggies, egg, and lots and lots of lean pork. I almost couldn't finish it, which would have been a unheard of. I highly recommend this place. The owner is very attentive and it shows in the way the...

I wanted wonton soup and a not often desire for shrimp fried rice. I placed order with receptionist asking if wanted vegetables in the fried rice- that’s odd but responded with yes. Picked up food with big price difference. Discovered that a shrimp delight dish was prepared; no fried rice. Tired disappointed hungry and not feeling well, I paid full amount for something not ordered with hopes a discount would’ve been offered. The soup was nice if ok with high salt and the dish wasn’t a favorite- threw half away. The receptionist however, was pleasant. Will try another Chinese restaurant.

They don’t know what chow mein is. Ordered chow mein where the woman literally went over what was in The chow mein. We even asked to have an ingredient left out. Chow mein has NOODLES. Chow mein is the same at every Chinese restaurant. Come home open up my bag to see this. BUST! This is a damn soup with boiled chicken. First time trying this place and will absolutely be the last. Completely wasted $15. Scroll down. Read all their 1 star reviews. It’s for a reason. Stay away. Went directly in the trash. Save your money, and go elsewhere, or even panda express.
