Multiple face piercings and rainbow colored hair must be a prerequisite for working at this particular Subway. While I’m totally fine with people “expressing themselves” that was the least turn-off I had with this location. The staff is never friendly and welcoming, in fact they look annoyed that you are even there. After two visits at the end of summer, I will unfortunately never come back to this location. On the first visit, I watched as the “sandwich artist” put the meat and cheese on my sandwich and while waiting for my turn at the vegetable station I watched in disgust as numerous flies gleefully crawled all over my sandwich all while the “sandwich artist” pretended not to notice. When I pointed out the flies all over my sandwich the “sandwich artist” asked, “Would you like a new sandwich then?” I replied yes, and to make it quickly before the flies noticed. When I got to the vegetable station I noticed that the lettuce was extremely brown and wilted, some even rotten looking (keep in mind this was at 11:30 AM – right before the lunch rush). I asked if they had other lettuce and so another “sandwich artist” went to the back and produced more brown lettuce. Rather unconcerned she said, “this lettuce is about the same.” Needless to say I passed on the lettuce. Always willing to give people a second chance, I returned a week later and after watching flies crawl around the sandwiches of the people ahead of me in line, I left and never went back. Interesting side note and interpret it however you like – when I went to the Lehi Subway the staffs appearance was much different, they were friendly and I didn’t see a single fly – but what I found interesting is the stark difference in quality and condition of two Subway’s that are owned by the same franchisee. Read moreI asked for a toasted tuna sandwich on white today, 7/17/14 at 2:00 pm at the drive thru. By the time I got my drink, my sandwich arrived, I said to the girl at the window, "Wow, that was fast. Are you sure it's toasted?" "Yes, it's toasted." I felt inside the packaging and the bread felt soft. "This is toasted?" "Yes". I should have pulled it out and looked and showed her. Got to a parking space, pulled it out - and it wasn't toasted. Because it had Provolone cheese, I wanted that to be somewhat melted. And where was the tuna? Skimpiest tuna sandwich I ever had. I don't want to be just eating a lot of bread and very little inside. That's not a sandwich. The experience felt like I was a hurried customer for whatever reason. Because I wasn't inside to see the thing being made, I was at their mercy - they could have wanted me to be gone fast so they could get back to their conversation, texting, or whatever. It was not a busy time, not the lunch hour. I was not happy and wanted to taste some tuna in the sandwich, heated with melted cheese. Felt cheated....
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing and upsetting experience at this location. An elderly Hispanic woman in front of me was trying to order more than one sandwich, and the employee behind the counter was not only extremely slow but also noticeably rude to her. She was polite and patient, but he repeatedly told her that he “had to save the rest of his bread for other customers” even though she was the last one in line. It felt like an excuse to limit her order for no good reason.
When she asked to add some condiments to her sandwich, he abruptly cut her off and said, “No, sorry, that’s just how they come,” without offering any explanation or alternatives.
Customers deserve to be treated with respect, regardless of their age, background, or how many sandwiches they want to buy. No one should be made to feel like a burden or like they’re asking...
