Nick's Place Saugus — Restaurant in Saugus

Been eating here for a long time and have never wrote a review. Seeing is my last order was very disappointing, I'd write a review on it. Nicks has been on decline ever since the new owner bought the place years ago. Having to order over the phone is a long and painful experience. Anyone who has placed an order over the phone knows exactly what i'm talking about. Let's talk about my last order though. Ever since I discovered their mash potato pizza it's been something my family loves to eat. Over time the quality, quantity and value of this once great pizza has fallen greatly. It's thin, dry and just not worth the money anymore. French fries are still good but only when you eat them there. If you order them for take out you might as well just throw them away once you get home. Not even an air fryer can get these things back to any type of taste worth putting in your mouth, yuk. Now let's talk about being completely ripped off. I bought there any 2 combo from their seafood dinner plates. I ordered scallops and clams. They want about $28 for this combo. If you order a single plate of scallops or clams, it's about the same amount of money. So I was greatly ticked off when I opened up my order to find basically a clam plate and 4 scallops in my order. You have got to be completely shitting me that this is the bullshit that's being pulled in this place. If I ever order again from them, it'll basically just be buying chicken fingers for my kids. I'll never buy their shitty mashed potato pizza ever again and I'll never give them money for anything seafood seeing is they screwed me like that. So I order a roadhouse pizza last night. The pizza looked excellent within the first couple bites. I, my girlfriend and my daughter all started complaining about how spicy it is, and I take a closer look and there’s orange lines of sauce sprayed on the pizza, buffalo sauce. My daughter suggest that I give them a call, but I assumed it was just an oversight on my behalf And buffalo sauce is on the pizza. Nick’s is on the pricey-er side. I get the thought that I should double check the online menu to see if it was an oversight again like I said on my behalf. No mention of buffalo sauce, as I thought, so I called them and explained the situation. Now I had to explain it to two other people before speaking to the manager. I Explained why I was calling, he says The Roadhouse Pizza does not come with Buffalo sauce. I said well there’s orange lines of sauce on the slices that I’ve wiped off, but you can clearly see that they were orange lines. Maybe somebody made a mistake, He just wants to justify and argue rather than present a solution. I told him fine. The only thing I can really do is leave a Google review. He did not care and goes. Go ahead and do it. I don’t personally order from Nick‘s very often however, my household is a repeat customer yeah I don’t think they’re going to be getting the business from this entire house any longer And even on the off chance that they’re barbecue sauce is orange. There’s nothing that indicates the pizza is spicy like those little flames on other restaurants menus. I was really rather shocked that the manager would rather argue with me then presenting any sort of positive solution. There is plenty of other options for pizza in Saugus, I would stay away from...

Recently ordered a Ham and Cheese Calzone, two cokes, and a side of Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese was phenomenal, something I get all the time there, meanwhile the Ham and Cheese calzone wasn’t so great this time. I get it a lot, and it’s normally great, but this time was not so great. When I got it, it ended up being a Ham, Cheese, and pepperoni calzone, which wasn’t too bad but the bad part was when I took a bite, some of the ham had mold on it. As soon as I saw it, I started trying spitting up as much as possible, and then had to throw the entire thing out. Nick’s place normally isn’t like this to me, so I’m just curious what went wrong

Update: I decided to order again from Nicks place for the first time in 8 months since I posted this. I order a large mozzarella stick, two drinks, and a ham and cheese calzone. The mozzarella were great, but the same thing happened with the calzone, with the pepperoni and mold again?! Seriously?! I will not be ordering from there again. This...
